ISTTIO OT Use plastic protectors on tire mounting tools and rim clamps when mounting a tire to a painted wheel. For wide low profile tires a tire mounting machine with a second arm to press down on the sidewall while the wheel is rotating is recommended. -4 of 6

2 When mounting tires, liberally use tire lube on the wheel and tire. For tire removal, use plastic inserts between the rim and tire after breaking the bead to create a large enough gap for the rim clamps.. Remove existing front wheel assembly. Save axle, axle nut, brake disc (except when replacing a stock laced wheel on a yna model) and wheel spacers for kit installation. Refer to FROT WH in service manual. For FXST models: iscard tapered spacer. Refer to FROT WH in service manual. OT Install long valve stem (436-) included in the installation kit. iscard all other valve stems.. See Figure. Install valve stem assembly () on wheel. Refer to TIRS in service manual. o not re-use brake disc/rotor screws. Re-using these screws can result in torque loss and damage to brake components. (39c) OTS Install the primary bearing first using appropriate service manual and WH BRI ROVR/ISTR. For its , 4774-, , 43353: The lettering on the left side of the wheel indicates the primary bearing side. For 8 and later yna models: Install bearing shim (445-8) under the primary bearing. For its 488-8, 44-, and 43355: For 6 and later FXW odels: When correctly installed, the tire will be.8-. in (-5 mm) off of center, compared to the fender. The left side of the wheel has OT markings. For 6 and earlier FX Softail models and 7 and earlier FXW models: The right side of the wheel is the primary bearing side. For 7 and later FX Softail models and 8 and later FXW models: The left side of the wheel is the primary bearing side. Install the shim indicated in the installation kit table. For FXSTS models: The right side is the brake disc side. For all other models: The left side is the brake disc side. 3. ssemble wheel installation kit components and brake disc(s) to wheel, using the appropriate service parts table. Refer to FROT WH in Service anual. 4. For FXST models: Install wheel kit and wheel spacer provided in installation kit in place of the tapered right side spacer discarded in Step. Refer to FROT WH in service manual. For FXSTS models: Install the spacer provided in the installation kit between the stock left side spacer and the left fork. For all other models: Install previously removed wheel spacers. Refer to FROT WH in service manual. 5. Install front wheel (), stock axle and stock axle nut. Refer to FROT WH in service manual.
