8 Hoods The main function of a hood is to remove fumes, grease and odors from the kitchen emitted when food is being cooked and also prevent any spreading to other rooms of the house. A kitchen with a clean, odor-free environment allows families to turn this space into another housing to spend long relaxing moments. So, it is particularly important for the hood to be as quiet as possible. Operating Modes Lira Inox Orion 900 In order to get good air intakes we must ensure a proper installation of the air removal ducts, minimizing the number of bends and avoiding driving diameter reduction, as well as a good maintenance of the grease filters that the hood contains. Nodor s hood s filters are comprised of five aluminum layers to prevent the passage of particles and fats. They are easily removable and they can be cleaned in the dishwasher. Filters should be cleaned at least once a month for maintenance. For those kitchens where there is no possibility of evacuating the air outside exists another system known as recirculating mode in which the filtered air is returned through the hood into the kitchen. In this case, fumes and grease are retained in the metal filters while the activated carbon releases air from odors. 9 Choosing the hood For the right choice of the hood it is necessary to know the height space of the kitchen and as they allow determining the volume of air contained therein. To ensure clean air in the kitchen it is necessary to renew the air of the room from 6 to 10 times per hour at minimum and maximum speed respectively. For example, if the kitchen has a 10 m2 surface and a 2.5 m height the room s volume is 10 m2 x 2.5 m2 = 25 m3 That is 25 m3 x 6 = 150 m3/h that must be renewed at a minimum speed, and 25 m3 x 10 = 250 m3 at a maximum speed. In other words, the hood must be capable of extracting 250 m3/h at a maximum speed. The data flow published in the catalog complies with the UNE-EN specific for hoods. It indicates the actual extraction capacity of the hood in m3/h and pressure in Pa in a checkpoint. The UNE-EN is related to the diameter and/or passage section of the extraction duct, and tells us that the data must be measured with the opposition offered by the rated output diffuser. Hood installation As a general rule, in an installation with gas hobs, the lower part of the hood must be at a height of 65 in relation to the hob. Latest Tecnhologies Power and help selection display when cooking The built-in display in the IMD series allows an easy intuitive and visual control, making the selection of the desired cooking power easier. It helps when operating with the hob and it can be used in a very simple manner. It incorporates intelligent detection and locking security. Timer function with beeper for each cooking area: This feature allows you to program each cooking area up to 10 h for IMD models and 99 minutes for the rest of the models. Once the time expires, the hob disconnects itself automatically and emits an audible warning (beep). 70
