1 Customer Education HGS System operatons Description 50-Amp Transfer Switch (Selected Circuits) 20-seconds Engine Warm-up, Transfer to Generator power (Power only to selected circuits on transfer switch circuit breakers. Main distribution panel circuits will not come on.) 100-Amp with ACCM Transfer Switch & 16 Circuit Control Panel 5-seconds Engine Cranks 20/50 seconds Engine Warm-up (depending on Transfer switch setting), Transfer to Generator Dedicated 16 circuits in transfer switch panel box are now active. (If there is a separate main distribution box, these circuits will not come on.) (Circuits wired through supervisory contacts will not initially come on) 5-minutes Circuits wired through supervisory contacts will now come on if there is available power. Board checks for load (Below 85% of capacity). (Circuits on supervisory contacts will drop out) Note: Circuits on supervisory contacts will be restored after 5 minutes.

2 100/200-Amp Whole House Transfer Switch With Air Conditioning Control Module With NEW Power Management System 35-Seconds Engine Warm-up (depending on Transfer switch setting), Transfer to Generator (Selected Circuits connected to the AA and BB contacts on the transfer switch will not come on during generator power) Circuits in customers distribution panel box are now active Power Management System Air conditioning and all power management circuits will be off when unit first goes to generator power. (LED status light in panel will blink, and air conditioning and Load Contacts will be open with corresponding LED s lit.) If there is a requirement for air conditioning, there is always a 5-minute wait time for air conditioning to start from the end of the last cycle. 5-minutes after initial outage Air conditioning circuit (AC1) will now come on 10-seconds Board checks for load (Below 85% of capacity) for before adding priority circuit L1 20-seconds Board checks for load (Below 85% of capacity) for before adding priority circuit L2 30-seconds Board checks for load (Below 85% of capacity) for before adding priority circuit L3 40-seconds Board checks for load (Below 85% of capacity) for before adding priority circuit L4 50-seconds Board checks for load (Below 85% of capacity) for before adding air conditioning circuit (AC2) During generator operation, AC3 and AC4 will not come on. Depending on loads, Power Management System may drop off loads to keep air conditioning (AC1) on. System will work backwards from AC2 through L relays, to allow AC1 to run. If available power drops below 85% of capacity with AC1 running, then AC1 will also drop out. Notes: Possibly low priority loads may never come on during generator power so that air conditioning (AC1) will remain on. System determines needs every 2-3 seconds. Air Conditioning Requirements After Initial 5 Minutes of Generator Run Time If there is a requirement for air conditioning after the initial 5 minutes, the Power Management System will drop out all prioritized loads in order for air conditioning (AC1) to start. It will follow the same routine and time line as above for adding back loads. (Includes circuits in distribution box and Power Management circuits.)

Board checks for load (Below 85% of capacity). (Circuits on supervisory contacts will drop out) Note: Circuits on supervisory contacts will be restored after 5 minutes.

5 100/200-Amp Whole House Transfer Switch (OLD) With Air Conditioning Control Module With Power Management System 20/50-seconds Engine Warm-up depending on setting, Transfer to Generator (Selected Circuits connected to NC1/NC2 will not come on during generator power) Circuits in customers distribution panel box are now active Load Control Center Air conditioning and all LCC circuits will be off when unit first goes to generator power. (If there is a requirement for air conditioning, there is always a 5-minute wait time for air conditioning to start from the end of the last cycle.) 5-minutes Air conditioning circuit will now come on 10-seconds Board checks for load (Below 85% of capacity) for before adding priority 1 circuit 20-seconds Board checks for load (Below 85% of capacity) for before adding priority 2 circuit 30-seconds Board checks for load (Below 85% of capacity) for before adding priority 3 circuit 40-seconds Board checks for load (Below 85% of capacity) for before adding priority 4 circuit 50-seconds Board checks for load (Below 85% of capacity) for before adding priority 5 circuit 60-seconds Board checks for load (Below 85% of capacity) for before adding priority 6 circuit Depending on loads, LCC will drop off loads to keep air conditioning on. System will work backwards from priority 6 to 1. Notes: Possibly low priority loads may never come on during generator power so that air conditioning will remain on. System determines needs every 2-3 seconds. Under generator power, after a minimum of 5 minutes, PMS system will drop out all prioritized loads in order for air conditioning to start. It will follow the same routine as above. If there are two air conditioning systems, only one system can operate at any one time. The customer will need to adjust their thermostat if they want one system to operate verses the other. (Includes circuits in control box and PMS circuits.) Circuits on any supervisory contacts will drop out. These circuits will be restored in 5 min. Note: Air conditioning will be restored after 5 minutes, if air conditioner has a time delay. Once generator shuts down, PMS loses power and no longer has control of air conditioners.
