5 SECTION 1 INTRODUCTION PURPOSE This 64.4 km/h 4% moderate overlap frontal impact test was conducted for the Tracy Law Firm. The test was conducted in accordance with the test request provided by the Tracy Law Firm. The test request was based on the IIHS Moderate Overlap Frontal Crashworthiness Evaluation Crash Test Protocol (Version XVIII) and the Office of Vehicle Safety Compliance Laboratory Test Procedure TP28-14 for FMVSS 28, dated April 16, 28. SUMMARY An offset deformable barrier (ODB) was impacted by a 213 Honda Fit 5-door hatchback at a velocity of km/h. The test was performed at KARCO Enineerin, LLC. on December 19, 217. Pre- and post-test photoraphs of the vehicle and dummies can be found in Appendix A of this report. Three (3) real-time cameras and seven (7) hih-speed cameras were used to document the frontal barrier impact event. One Part 572E 5 th percentile male anthropomorphic test device (ATD) was placed in each the driver and riht front passener seatin positions. The driver 5 th percentile ATD was placed accordin to dummy placement instructions specified in the IIHS Guidelines for Usin the UMTRI ATD Positionin Procedure for ATD and Seat Positionin and the passener 5 th percentile ATD was placed accordin to dummy placement instructions specified in the FMVSS 28 laboratory test procedure. Both ATDs were fully instrumented with head, chest and pelvis tri-axial accelerometers, chest displacement potentiometers, upper neck force transducers, riht / left femur load cells, and lower le instrumentation. The 114 channels of dummy and vehicle response data were recorded on an on-board data acquisition system. Appendix B contains the dummy response data traces. 1
