2 The basis for this protection is guideline 94/9/ uropean TX uidelines. The equipment is classified to be used in T. II environments. The following degrees of protection can be manufactured : 1. asic quipment of the type asic protection can be used in Zone 2 for gases of explosion group II & II provided that Hydrogen Sulphide and thylene xide are excluded. These devices have a minimum degree of protection against sparking on the fast contact parts and against corrosion of certain critical contact parts. The devices are designated with the following classification: X II 3 II c T3 (Zone 2) 2. Medium quipment of the type Medium protection can be used in Zone 1&2 for gases of explosion group II & II provided that Hydrogen Sulphide and thylene xide are excluded. These devices have an increased degree of protection against sparking on the fast contact parts and that of designated critical contact parts and against corrosion of certain parts. The devices are designated with the following classification: X II 2 II c T3 (Zone 1) 3. High quipment of the type High protection can be used in Zone 1&2 for gases of explosion group II & II & II provided that Hydrogen Sulphide and thylene xide are excluded.
