4 Key objectives of the online tool To support small and medium sized cities who have less resources for modelling Aims to be simple and easy to use with limited data input and no need for significant transport modelling experience Provides quantified outputs for a range of environmental, transport and economic impacts Online, easily accessible tool Helps a range of city policy makers to explore and scope initial policy packages (roadmaps) to meet sustainability objectives Facilitates discussion and engagement between key city departments through use of a common tool 4

10 Developing policy roadmaps CONTEXT City experience increasing congestion and pollution problems. Public transport service is largely insuffcient to cater for demand and some neighbourings are very poorly served such as car is basically the only available transport alternative. The supply of public transport facilities has started to improve. All neighbourings have been connected with bus services and the planning of BRT and tram services is in advanced phase. City developments are regulated by a city plan to ensure that thay occur only along the route of planned BRT and tram services. Some people returned to live in the city centre and reduced the use of cars. The improved bus service has changed mobility habits towards sustainable modes. So when new BRT and tram services have started to operate they attracted much demand. The bus fleet has been partially renewed and include CNG vehicles. The streamlining of urban freight delivery is started A large network of bus, tram and BRT serve the urban area and some new developments which however include houses as well as activities and so many residents do not need to reach the centre for working and other needs. Charging facilities for electric cars are available in all private and public parkings.
