National foreword This South African standard was approved by National Committee StanSA TC 68, Security systems, in accordance with procedures of Standards South Africa, in compliance with annex 3 of the WTO/TBT agreement. All the parts of the series standard SANS 60335, by reference, form part of the Compulsory specification for electrical and electronic apparatus, as published by Government Notice No. R (Government Gazette 17548) of 8 November Compliance with the requirements of this part of SANS will be deemed to be compliance with the said compulsory specification. This SANS edition cancels and replaces SANS edition 2 (SANS :2004).
