2 PEDRO DOVE BIOGRAPHY Wings From The Dove Exhibit An aviation expert, enthusiast and pilot for over 50 years and avid worldwide traveler, Retired United Airlines Captain Pedro Dove has become a celebrated Aviation & Mixed Media Artist. His aviation collection, "Wings From The Dove" debuted during Art Basel Miami in 2010 at Two Mundos' Art Gallery. Since then, his collection of over 30-pieces has been featured at other locations including Gallery 212, Copa Airlines' corporate office, Wings Over Miami Air Museum, Kendall-Tamiami Executive Airport; and during key events with Miami Fashion Week, Two Mundos Magazine, Latin Taste Fest, and Mercy Foundation, amongst others. Born and raised in New York City, Pedro developed a passion and appreciation for art while living in San Juan, Puerto Rico in the late 1960 s/1970 s. During that time, Pedro flew light aircrafts including DC-3 s, Beechcraft s and Cessna s throughout the Caribbean, appreciating the cultural beauty and sceneries the islands still have to offer. From the 1980 s until 2007, Pedro went on to heavy commercial aircrafts including the DC-10, B-727 and B enjoying views from the snowy mountain tops of Alaska, the luscious green jungles of Thailand, the medieval castles of Ireland, and back to the cobble-stones of Old San Juan. Today, Pedro shares his memories from his days as a pilot and U.S. Air Force mechanic where he became a sheet metalist and currently applies this technique into his work painting aviation and other scenery works. His approach to art is fresh and unique - transforming recyclable goods, metals and plastics into modern works of art. His celebrated piece, "Dove International" has been an on-going project of more than 24 years featuring an eco-friendly 7'x14' miniature airport with more than 300 airplanes (1/600 scale), over 1,000 colored-beads reflecting natural lighting to simulate an actual working airport, recyclable goods, and a mountainous landscape surrounding his L-shaped airport.
