Oliver s journey into car body started with a college course in motor sports engineering but Oliver soon realised that he wanted to learn to how to fix cars for real not through a text book. This led to him finding an apprenticeship within a Bodyshop where he repaired cars and gained his Thatcham College Level 3 Qualification. He soon progressed within the Bodyshop and had a number of different roles including panel beater, estimator and quality control supervisor. Oliver joined GYS in 2017 and has built a strong customer base across the South West by listening to customer s requirements and offering true innovation to their capital equipment requirements. Oliver was recently named in the Bodyshop Magazine 30 under 30 Initiative showcasing young talent within the car body industry.

18 battery chargers battery chargers Whether it s for Charging or Starting- GYS believe that the ideal tools must meet 3 simple criteria, encompassed with the GYS Test. 1. Safety - The product must be safe to use with the battery in situ, chargers must include protection to ensure that no damage can be done to the vehicle s electronic system. This can include overvoltage protection, polarity reversal and the prevention of sparks. 2. All Battery Types (Lead) - Equipment must have the ability to charge or work with the latest battery types. We now see new battery materials - AGM, EFB, Stop Start, Silver/ Calcium - a traditional constant current charger cannot be recommended for the latest battery types. 3. Universal Mode - The ability to safely charge when the battery type is not known, this is a very important real world problem. Technicians will have experienced the difficulty in locating and identifying the battery type in many vehicles. GYS products offer a solution simply to connect and go, giving the assurance that the charge will be conducted safely without requiring the technician to identify the battery type.
