2 THREE SIDES OF THE STORY Stopping, steering and stability form the three sides of what Monroe call the safety triangle three things essential to your safety on and off the road. If any part of the safety triangle stops working properly, you will be putting yourself and others at real risk. STOPPING At 50km/h, just one worn shock absorber can increase your stopping distance by up to 2 metres! STEERING Worn shock absorbers can cause your tyres to lose contact with the road, dramatically affecting steering. Simply put, shock absorbers help to control the movement of your vehicle s springs and suspension.
