11 Digital scale Quick Start Guide Scope of the digital scale SLS The digital scale is for the weighing of patients under the supervision of a qualified, trained nursing staff in accordance of the instructions provided in this manual. The digital scale is as special accessories and intended for use only with appropriate lift models.. Digital scale SLS for bath lift NINA Switching ON/OFF Long keystroke (>10 s) Selecting kg lbs Gross/net selection or taring and net display Technical data Unit kg or lb switchable Max. capacity Minimum load cell verification interval Dimensions (W x H x D) Battery voltage 200,0 kg or 440 lbs. 0,1 kg 164 x 87 x 70 mm 9 V Switch on The scale is ready for operation approx. 10 seconds after switching on. During this time, the digital scale should not be moved or loaded! 1. Press the ON/OFF key once 2. Display segment test ( ~ 5 seconds ) 3. Then all the segments go out ( ~ 2 seconds ) 4. Display of software used ( ~ 3 seconds ) 5. The scale is ready for operation. Nina Rev. 12/
12 Digital scale Weighing when switching the scale on without a patient Once the segment test is completed the display is set to 0.0 kg and the scale is ready for operation. Before the patient can sit in the scale, the weight that is not to be included in the meas urement (e.g. a towel) must be placed on the scale and tare key G/N >0/T< must be pressed. Please note that the zero on start-up range for a 200 kg single-range balance is limited at the factory to 10 kg. Automatic zeroing is not performed above this loading. Should it not be possible to avoid this situation, please press the tare key to force zeroing. Be aware, however, that the lifter scale weighing range is reduced by this amount. - Press the G/N key once: to tare - You can now weigh - Press the G/N key once again to toggle between the scale zero setting and the gross weight. - Only then should the patient sit in the sling. (Caution: this is not the patient's weight value) - Press the ON/OFF key once: to switch the scale on - Display segment test (5 seconds) - Then all the segments go out - Followed by the display of software used - The total weight is displayed (with the cradle!) Information: If zero is displayed at this point, it is not possible to weigh like this. - Now press the tare key to determine the weight of the patient. Then remove the patient from the scale (display value is now negative). The weights of the sling, towel, etc., that are not to be measured stay on the scale or must be reattached. The value that is now displayed without the minus sign corresponds to the actual body weight of the patient. - Press the G/N key once: to tare - The total weight is set to zero - Once the patient gets out of the cradle, their weight is displayed with a negative sign. Changing the unit (kg lb) Switch the scale on and wait for ~10 seconds. - Unit kg - Press On/Off key for 5 seconds - Unit lb Proceed in the same way to change from lb to kg. Whichever unit is last set is retained even when the scale is switched off. Nina Rev. 12/
13 IBS Battery System Intelligent Battery System IBS Your lift has been equipped with this new battery system. The battery is charged before delivery. We the Horcher GmbH have developed this new IBS Battery System for rechargeable batteries the integrated regulated memory chip safes the battery from being handled the wrong way. When not in use, the IBS battery shuts of automatically after three minutes, to safe energy and no damage occurs to the battery. Reminds the user when battery is low through an interval tune. If the user disregards this message then a continuance tune will remind him that the battery is low and need s to be recharged. Battery charger Charging Plug the battery into the charging station, make sure the charging station is plugged in to the wall socket. Charger light will glow brightly while being charged. Your battery is totally charged when the control light is off. The wall mounted battery charger should only be installed in dry rooms and close to an electrical socket. Make sure the battery charger is not installed close to a water faucet or in a damp area. Should your lift show no function, check the fuse in the battery or battery charger.
