16 Benefit of Simulation Tools for Customers Why should simulations tools for technical and economical optimization being used instead of standardized hybrid power blocks, e.g. 4MW DGS + 4MW Wind + 4MW/2MWh Storage? Pro: technically possible, as long as Maximum load is less than DGS power No large consumer in operation Con: most probably no economical business case Too high investment and operation costs related to what is really needed (=load) No consideration of alternatives like PV, hydro or biomass which could lead to much more attractive business cases No optimization in terms of customer main focus, e.g. IRR, payback period, LCoE What are the customer benefits if simulation tools are used?
