3 Benefits of upgrading Portability and handling The complete XL-80 system, including optics is contained in a truly portable wheelie-case. The tripod case can be attached to the XL-80 system case (see photo right). With a light weight of approximately 12 kg, the XL-80 system with Renishaw linear and angular optics can be transported easily and by avoiding most airline surcharges, minimises cost. It is easier to: - lift the case out of the car - manoeuvre the case upstairs - wheel the case through narrow doors/walkways All of which reduce return trips to the car allowing you to set up and calibrate faster. Don t get left behind 2. Productivity Fast and simple set up with minimal preheat time (below six minutes), and easy read LEDs for status indication. Laser head is stored fixed to the tripod adjusting stage, requiring only a quick snap-lock fit onto legs, simplifying set-up. Standard optics are stored in the case pre-assembled, reducing set-up time. Both laser and compensator connect to a PC via USB port; no separate interface, no complicated set-ups. XL-80 can be switched to high gain option to maximise strength on complex setup s or long range applications. Analogue I/O port allows for analogue signal outputs and a trigger signal input. Cordless mouse can be used as a wireless handheld switch. Laser and stage can be mounted on a machine s bed for smaller enclosed machines. 3

Flexibility LaserXL software - supports measurements with linear, angular, straightness, squareness and rotary optics preset data capture rates ranging between 10 khz - 50 khz. - can be used to create compensation values for use in CNC machine controllers, to most international standards e.g. ISO, ASME, VDI, JIS and GB. - automatic formatting and transfer of compensation data to machine tool CNC (using error compensation software). LaserXL software - error compensation software used in combination with LaserXL allows users to calculate compensation values, which when fed into a machine s controller will significantly improve the machine s positioning accuracy. QuickviewXL software - unique software provides real time, graphical views of dynamic data, in an icon based package - no need to save data before analysis, as the data is displayed live on screen - supports measurement with linear, angular or straightness measurement optics - data capture rate of 50 khz at 4 m/s Simply set up the laser, align the optics and view the data!
