5 POWER TAKE OFF WARRANTY POWER TAKE OFF WARRANTY information on the warranty of the pto shafts The PTO shafts are warrantied by the manufacturer and cover only defects in material and workmanship, and is conditional to recommended use and installation only. The life expectancy of a PTO shaft including components such as yokes, u-joints and tubes depend on many factors which cannot be controlled by Les Machineries Pronovost inc. Factors directly affecting the life of a PTO shaft : - Too steep a working angle. - Angle of the snowblower to the ground. - Frequency of lubrication and grease type used. - Intermittent or continuous work cycle. - Proper usage by the operator. - Speed of rotation. Where one or more of the above mentionned situations applies, our snowblower price list proposes, as options, different solutions : - Bigger PTO shafts. - PTO shafts with Multilobe Tubes. - Installation of the snowblower at 000 RPM instead of 540 RPM with the use of a reduction gear box to decrease the angle of the PTO shaft and / or decrease the load on the tractor's transmission. IMPORTANT: When using a 000/540 speed reducer, be sure to use a 0 mm shear bolt or a 2 mm shear bolt reduced to 3/8" according to model of drive shaft (PTO). 5
