It can be used throughout distribution networks and in the laboratory, in fact anywhere that requires accurate determination of particle distribution in a liquid sample. Whether checking the quality of fuel, efficacy of filter systems or condition of in-service lubricants, AvCount2 provides fast and precise results. AvCount uses the light emitted by a laser to illuminate a cell through which the sample is passed. Each particle present in the sample casts a shadow onto the sensor within the cell, and as the shadow passes across the sensor the voltage output of the sensor drops. The voltage drop of the cell is proportional to the particle size and AvCount2 calculates the size of the particle based on this principle. Results are displayed in real time and are simultaneously printed out on the integral printer. The test methods embedded in AvCount2 cover a range of fuels, lubricating oils and hydraulic fluids and can be edited to create custom test profiles. Versatile connectivity and memory management allow results to be accessed, printed out or downloaded to a USB stick. AvCount2 supports dual calibration tables, allowing users to select tests using an ISO calibration traceable to NIST SRM 2806b or to a secondary working standard traceable to the last certified values of NIST SRM 2806a. Verification AvCount Verification Material (SA1006-0) The material is a suspension of a NIST medium test dust in a super-clean clear, mineral based, technical oil, traceable to NIST 2806 cx) AvCount Verification Material is manufactured in accordance with ISO 11171:2016 Annex F, with the exception of the use of a clear technical oil as diluent. The certified values are statistically derived from the results of a significant number of tests conforming to IP 565, using AvCount instruments calibrated in accordance with ISO 11171:2016, using materials traceable to NIST SRM 2806b, under ISO 9001 conditions. The certificate also gives values for instruments calibrated with materials traceable to NIST SRM 2806a. The homogeneity and variability of the AvCount Verification Fluid is checked in accordance with ISO Guide 35 and the essentials of ISO Guide 34. A combination of innovative features and rapid measurement technologies make the AvCount Lite highly flexible, whilst its portable design allows use in the field and the laboratory, without ease of use or accuracy of results being affected. AvCount Lite is fitted with a precision dual piston pump. When measuring samples from a bottle, the pump draws an aliqot of sample through the measurement cell at a consistent flow rate. When connected to a pressurised line, the pump provides accurate metering and control. A pressure reduction system is available for applications above 10 bar. Custom test methods can be created on a PC or laptop before being uploaded to the AvCount Lite s memory. Test progress and results for up to 6 size bands are displayed as cumulative particles/ml and ISO 4406 cleanliness codes. Results are then stored within the AvCount Lite s internal memory which has space for up to 600 sets of results. If required, the results can be downloaded via USB port for further analysis and printing from a computer. AvCount Lite is supplied with ASTM D7619, IP 565 and ISO 4406 pre-installed. Protrend - Allows an operator to control an AvCount Lite from a personal computer or laptop. It allows the operator to create local custom test methods, run tests and download data. Protrend supports multiple AvCount Lite units, synchronising the sampling and measurement to allow trend analysis. Partikel - Used to create and upload test methods into the memory of the AvCount Lite. Intended for supervisors, it allows the AvCount to be configured with up to 3 test methods. Once uploaded, AvCount Lite can be used as a standalone instrument, Partikel software is supplied. Calibration - Supplied with the instrument for the calibration of AvCount Lite, calibration curves can be created and uploaded. These can be based on a number of different standards including Seta SA1018-0, a secondary working standard traceable to NIST SRM 2806b. 3

FIJI uniquely utilises state of the art FTIR (Fourier Transform Infra-Red Spectroscopy) technology and a patented sample preparation system which allows FAME detection accuracy down to the 10mg/kg level. FIJI can be used as a field or lab based screening tool to give a quick indication of possible FAME contamination that may then necessitate further investigations. The instrument can be used to prevent expensive testing and avoid costly delays of fuel release. The FIJI instrument is robust, extremely simple to use and is fully automatic so no specialist operator training is involved. Tests require less than 50ml of sample and typically take under 20 minutes. Results are presented in mg/kg units together with an optional traffic light system for flagging FAME contamination levels of the fuel. By comparison current analytical tests can take many hours, require complex equipment and demand high skill levels. Using a unique sample preparation module the sample is pumped at a controlled flow rate though a proprietary disposable cartridge. The sample components are spectrally analysed by the FTIR and a result is displayed in mg/kg and a graphical spectrum is also shown. The system is self-cleaning so no solvents are required. After each test the cartridge is simply and easily replaced and the instrument is immediately ready for the next sample. Surfactants, or surface active agents, are not normally present in aviation fuel, but can be picked up during transportation in pipelines, ships or storage, or through misadditization. Surfactants in the fuel affect the ability of filters in the distribution network to remove entrained water through coalescence. The WSI is a small fully automated laboratory instrument which reduces the chance of error in this critical aviation fuel test. Simple touch screen operation enables tests to be started quickly and easily. Using a disposable filter cartridge, and a patented specific dye detector, the WSI dynamically measures the sample under test for its ability to separate water. Sample preparation is automatic and uses patented sonic mixing technology to emulsify the sample, which enables a uniform water/fuel mixture every time. Results are calculated from the detector reading and displayed on screen as the Water Separation Index (WSI). A high WSI, such as 100, indicates the sample coalesces easily and is relatively free of surfactants. WSI Filter cartridges use API/EI th edition filter material which is less sensitive to weak surfactants and is less affected by SDA, eliminating uncertainty over static dissipater additives, but is responsive to the presence of ester based additives. WSI (SA9000-0) The instrument features fully automated sample handling and therefore requires minimal operator time with just 3 simple steps to start a test. To operate the instrument, a sample is first poured into the test beaker and a filter cartridge fitted. Next, using the user friendly touch screen the sample information is entered before pressing start to commence the test. Once the test is underway the sample is purged through the instrument, then a specific amount of dyed water is added via the accurate microliter pump. The ultrasonic mixer emulsifies the fuel/water mixture according to a defined routine to make an emulsified sample. The emulsified sample is passed to the detector, the water content is checked, and then passed through the filter cartridge to the detection system. If the water in the emulsion is successfully removed (good water separation) by the filter cartridge then the aviation fuel is deemed to be free from surfactants and a high value is reported (WSI 97 to 100). If water passes through the filter (poor separation), it is measured by the detector, and a lower WSI number is reported, indicating a fuel which may contain surfactants. When connected to a suitable chilled water supply, the range is extended down to -20 C (-4 F). There are two modes of operation; flash/no flash and ramp. The ramp mode increases the sample temperature at a rate of 2 C/min and automatically dips the ignitor every 1 C up to 100 C (every 2 C above 100 C), until either a flash is detected or the end of test temperature is reached. Seta PM-93 provides rapid sample testing using integral heating and forced air sample cooling systems. An intuitive user menu and 8.4 (215mm) SVGA colour touch screen operation provide unrivalled ease of use with real time display of test progress. Large capacity memory allows storage of test profiles, operator names, test methods and in excess of 2000 results. Unique test profiles enable the test to be set up and repeated quickly without re-entering the same information. For example, if numerous jet samples with similar expected flash points are being tested then a test profile can be set up and stored to memory so the user can select this option without the need to program the test parameters. Operation is simple, just a single raising or lowering action when loading or removing the test cup. The lid and shutter are integral to a hinged pod and fitted with a fire detection probe, fire extinguishing manifold, ignitor, flash detector and temperature probe. The stirrer drive, shutter actuator and ignitor dipping mechanism are also self contained within the pod module. A unique alignment design ensures that the lid and cup locate perfectly every time. The ignition source is a purpose-designed extended life hot wire, a gas ignition option is also included. The sample temperature probe is a class A PRT and flash detection is by a thermocouple. An optional, unique SafeFlash fire extinguishing system ( ) is available which automatically and immediately activates an extinguisher in the event of excess flame or fire around the test cup. If discharged the screen prompts the user to re-activate the extinguisher by simply replacing the integral inert gas canister. Canisters remain sealed inside the instrument until pierced by the actuator mechanism. Additional safety features include PRT checks, safety dip before starting, overtemperature cut out, gas flame relight and gas shut off. Rapid turnaround between tests is achieved using a high capacity cooling fan and optimised air flow. It provides an accurate and rapid conductivity measurement of distillate fuels; and is specifically designed for testing low conductivity fluids such as such as aviation kerosene, ULSD, home heating fuel, Naphtha, and printing ink. The Meter can measure fuel electrical conductivities between 0 and 2000 picosiemens/meter (ps/m), although it is optimised and normally used in the 0 to 500 ps/m range. The unit comprises a solid block bath with removable taper-fit conical air jet adaptors with copper screens, and an air flow control valve and gauge. The bath has five test wells and a thermometer well. Outlets can be individually checked for uniform flow of air. The bath has a temperature range of 140 to 260 C, and is controlled by a digital temperature controller which displays both the set temperature and the actual bath temperature measured by a probe. The flow of air is adjusted by an inlet control valve and monitored on a calibrated Bourdon gauge. The instrument has a small footprint and is ideally suited for busy labs. Stability is better than ±0.015 at -20 C and ±0.01 at -40 C. The bath is fully self contained and requires no external chillers or connections. A heated top plate and viewing window prevent condensation and ice formation, this, combined with high intensity long life ultra-bright LED lighting ensures clear bath visibility at all times. Data logging via the external RS-232 port is also possible when connected to a PC and suitable software. Each bath is provided with a factory calibration certificate, traceable to UKAS including temperature traces. Customers can request specific temperature calibrations and traces if required, ensuring that the product meets their exact requirements.
