5 WEICHAI G-DRIVE ENGINE ECHNOLOGY Weichai G-drive engine structure and sealing have been optimized for performance and reliability. he newly designed air filter has a more compact structure, higher filtering efficiency, cleaner intake, and easier replacement of the filter element. he intake, exhaust system, fuel system and turbocharger have also been optimized for better flow and combustion with lower fuel consumption and operating cost. he coolant piping and suspension brackets have been optimized to reduce vibration and allow easier installation. he newly designed oil pan is a boat shape structure which increases the oil heat radiation area and reduces vibration. 12 G-DRIVE GAS ENGINES Overview Each series of Weichai g-drive gas engines is developed and designed on the basis of corresponding matured Weichai diesel engines and uses LNG, CNG, and/or methane as the fuel. he gas engines feature a completely new piston, valve, valve seat ring and cooling design to address the higher combustion and exhaust temperatures associated with gas versus diesel fuel. he mature and reliable Woodward electrical gas control injection system allows the gas engines to achieve power, reliability and performance levels on par with diesel making it the ideal gen-set power for gas applications.
