13 CONQUER & CONTROL WHATEVER THE WEATHER Front Differential On AWD models, the front differential allows the front wheels to turn at different speeds while cornering, even when they are propelling the car. If you want to enhance your Stinger s ability to tackle rough roads and bad weather conditions, opt for a model with All-Wheel Drive (AWD). It means greater confidence and control when driving in challenging conditions or low-grip surfaces, including snowy, icy and wet roads. Using Dynamic Torque Vectoring Control, the system instantaneously adapts to changes, sending power and braking torque to the appropriate wheels to ensure traction and stability. Rack-mounted Motor Driven Power Steering (R-MDPS) R-MDPS sophisticated computer management adjusts the steering assistance when appropriate, giving you greater control and feedback, while saving power and fuel. It increases assistance at low speed manoeuvres and lightens it at higher speeds. 19-inch Continental tyres Standard on the GT and optional on GT Line, 19-inch wheels with Continental tyres offer enhanced grip. Rear Differential For rear-wheel drive models, an optional mechanical limited-slip differential provides agility during highspeed cornering. Electronically controlled transfer case The Kia Stinger s AWD uses an electronically controlled transfer case to manage the appropriate distribution of torque to the front and rear wheels. The system analyses road conditions for resistance at each wheel and distributes the optimal amount of power from the transmission to each of the axles. Electronically controlled Suspension (ECS) ECS uses multiple sensors to evaluate the driving parameters, including vehicle speed, road surface, cornering, stopping requirements and acceleration, and adapts the suspension accordingly for maximum comfort and safety. Cornering During cornering, the AWD system maintains stability by sending more torque to the outside rear wheel to improve control as the car moves through the turn. Slippery roads On slippery surfaces, the AWD system sends torque to the wheels with the most traction, and shifts it away from wheels that are spinning. Highway cruising On smooth highways, the Stinger shifts the drive bias to rear-wheel drive, for classic RWD handling benefits and response. Lane changes The intelligent control unit distributes torque to the inside rear wheel and immediately responds to small changes in torque needs during the manoeuvre. Electronic Stability Control (ESC) Optimal braking performance and directional control is achieved by automatically delivering the right amount of braking force to each wheel based on evaluation of engine torque and driving circumstances. Drive Mode Select (DMS) DMS changes the driving characteristics of engine, transmission, suspension, steering and AWD. It can even alter the engine sound. Choose between five drive modes Comfort, the default mode for smooth acceleration and comfort, Sport for a more dynamic ride, Sport+ for dynamic driving with less stabilisation, Eco to save fuel and Smart for intelligent adjustments of driving characteristics

Rear integrated diffuser An integrated diffuser panel under the rear bumper helps control airflow and prevents the dual exhaust pipes from creating drag under the car. Trunk lid with spoiler effect To improve stability and optimise airflow that forms behind the Stinger when travelling at higher speeds, the trailing edge of the trunk lid is arched, providing a spoiler effect and a stunning finale to the Stinger silhouette. Multiple undercovers and aerodynamic effects While the aerodynamic aspects of the silhouette are plain to see, the Stinger also boasts vital drag reduction features that improve airflow underneath the car. It uses a system of sturdy undercovers, below the engine and transmission, each side of the cabin, and each side of the rear suspension. Parking Distance Warning-Reverse/ Forward (PDW R/F) To help you park safely and confidently, PDW uses ultrasonic sensors mounted on the front and rear bumpers to warn of any obstacles.
