And the interior of the 207 SW could turn out to be one of your favourite haunts. We ve done everything we can to help you enjoy the driving experience to the full. The perfectly contoured driver s seat feels like it s been created just for you adjust the height and rake, then make yourself feel even more at home by altering the height and reach of the steering wheel to match. Beyond that, all the gadgets and gizmos are designed to be within easy reach, from the multi-function display and electric windows to the RD4 radio-cd player. So we tasked our designers with creating an interior that offered maximum comfort for your passengers, maximum luggage space and maximum style. Without compromising on anything. Their clever solution was a totally modular seating system that lets you fold one or all of the rear seats totally flat at the touch of a button. Putting up to 1410 litres of fully carpeted, wide open space at your disposal. The rear window even opens independently for easy access when you re in a tight spot. So our passion for developing real drivers cars with superb road-holding means you can have the confidence to explore the dynamic capabilities of your 207 SW in even the most demanding conditions. That glued to the road feeling comes courtesy of a rigid chassis, a wide wheelbase and McPherson front suspension matched by a steel rear axle with a deformable cross member (the rear suspension has been specially strengthened to cope with heavier loads).this gives the 207 SW perfect balance plus real responsiveness and stability at high speeds. The long list of advanced active safety features continues with variable, electric power-assisted steering.this gives you pin-sharp precision on the open road and makes for easy parking and manoeuvring when you re in town. And when it comes to the brakes, as you might expect the 207 SW is equipped with one of the most sophisticated systems around, which includes: Anti-lock brakes (ABS) prevent the wheels from skidding and help you retain control of the steering if you need to halt the car in a hurry, making emergency stops a lot less nerve-wracking. Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBFD) automatically varies the amount of braking force on each wheel. As a result the car is much more stable under heavy braking even in a corner. Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) comes to your aid when you need it most by applying maximum braking power in milliseconds, bringing you to a halt far quicker than you could move your foot on the brake pedal, reducing the likelihood of accidents. Our Electronic Stability Programme (ESP)* provides extra peace of mind. It has been specially configured for the 207 SW and gives you these extra functions: Traction Control (ASR) applies brake pressure to one or more wheels and if necessary also reduces the engine revs to prevent the wheels from spinning when you re accelerating, especially in wet or snowy conditions. Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) continuously monitors and compares where you intend to steer (via the steering wheel sensor) with the vehicle s response (via the yaw sensor), correcting any under or oversteer and braking individual wheels or reducing engine speed to rebalance the vehicle where necessary. Low Dynamic ESP (LDE) applies minimal corrections to your brake pressure to avoid any loss of control around bends. Understeer Control Logic (UCL) helps the vehicle turn into the corner if any understeer is detected by reducing engine speed and applying the brakes on up to two wheels. But the 207 SW s far-sightedness doesn t stop there. High-intensity headlights with directional lighting* make it easier to spot pedestrians or hazards at the side of the road, while automatic hazard lights mean that drivers behind you are warned the instant you start to make an emergency stop. *Option available at extra cost, depending upon model. Passive safety Accidents happen in real life, not under ideal test conditions.that s why we ve done everything in our power to ensure that the 207 SW offers you and your passengers as much protection as possible from the outside in. The 207 SW s bodyshell is designed to absorb and deflect impact energy, with crumple zones at the front and rear to keep the passenger compartment intact. Plus, should the unexpected happen and you re involved in a head-on collision, the steering column moves down to protect the driver and to help prevent the engine and gearbox shunting back into the cabin. And because danger can hit you from any angle, we ve paid special attention to the side of the vehicle, building reinforced panels into the doors to increase structural rigidity and give further protection to everyone travelling inside. Further safeguards are provided by five, three point seatbelts. Each one has a force limiter to keep everyone safely in their seats and the front belts are also equipped with pretensioners. There s even a fasten seat belt indicator which lights up if anyone forgets to put their belt on. If an accident should occur, you have the reassurance of knowing that the 207 SW comes with six airbags. Two adaptive driver and front passenger airbags, which are selectively deployed to counter the intensity of the impact, for head and upper body protection. Two front side airbags to guard the driver and front passenger s chests and bodies. Two curtain airbags, front and rear, to protect the heads of all the passengers. We ve also put a lot of thought into protecting your little ones.the two rear side seats are both equipped with ISOFIX mounts, each with three anchor points, making it quick and easy to fit compatible child seats. And if you want to keep a closer eye on one of your offspring, you can deactivate the front passenger airbag to make it safe and legal to put him or her up front in a rear facing baby seat. But it s not just the people inside the 207 SW that we ve tried to keep safe. We ve also designed a soft nose into the front so that injuries suffered by pedestrians from a collision are reduced as much as possible. Last but not least we ve also taken a number of measures to protect your pride and joy itself.to deter thieves and intruders the 207 SW has a remote controlled alarm system available as an option plus, as standard on all models, anti-pick locks that disengage if anything other than the key is inserted, plus deadlocks and a coded anti-start device.
