7 Comfort // 13 Dynamic lines inside, as well as out The Peugeot 607 has one of the most spacious interiors in its class and is equipped with numerous practical storage areas; a refrigerated glove box and a CD holder are just some of them. The electrically adjustable front seats let you find your ideal driving position easily, even if someone else has been driving, due to the fact that the driver s seat adjustment can be memorised, along with the position of the rear-view mirrors. And for maximum comfort in winter, you have heated front and rear seats. Air conditioning with automatic regulation and separate right/left adjustment allows the driver and front seat passenger to create their own mini-climate. Thanks to the passenger compartment filter, the air is virtually free of pollen, dust and even certain hydrocarbon odours. Plus, when the weather gets warmer, the athermic windscreen and electric rear blind prevent the car interior from overheating. 10 Passion // 19 Your Peugeot 607 comes with a choice of three superb engines. 3.0 litre V6 petrol 2.0 litre HDi litre HDi 170 twin turbo FAP (particulate filter) This engine incorporates a variable valve timing system (VVT) for improved straight line acceleration and a new exhaust with an active dual-mode system which combines fantastic performance at high engine speeds with improved noise insulation. Equipped with the latest technology, this engine has an air/air intercooler plus a variable geometry turbocharger which works on the latest-generation Common Rail system. It comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The 607 is the world s first diesel car to be powered by sequential twin parallel turbochargers. Controlled entirely by the engine s electronic control unit (ECU) the system employs just one turbocharger at low engine speeds, with the second cutting in between 2600 and 3200 rpm.the result? Increased torque at low speeds and reduced fuel consumption. A feature on all 607 HDi models, the FAP particulate filter reduces pollution by virtually eliminating particulates and smoke. It s designed to operate under all possible conditions without affecting the performance of the car. 13 Passion // Imbued with a sixth sense 25 A gifted performer The 607 was made to be driven. A chassis that really communicates with you means you always feel at one with the car, whatever your driving style. Choose the V6 version and you ll discover it features the intuitive AMVAR variable damping system. A sensor located in each damper transmits information to the system, which controls the suspension of each wheel independently, changing it in an instant to any one of nine different damping settings smoothing out bumps before you know it. Also connected to the 607 s other on-board computers, the AMVAR system literally keeps you going straight on the straights and automatically stiffens the suspension when you re accelerating, braking or cornering.this system can be activated either in sport mode or in automatic mode. The variable assistance hydraulic steering is designed to take even more of the strain out of driving. It gives you maximum assistance when you re parking, and more discreet aid when you re on the road.the amount of assistance the system provides varies continuously to match your speed, so you always feel completely in control. About to park? Let the 607 guide you. You drive the 607 anticipates your needs The 607 makes light work of parking too, thanks to several, easy-to-use features. To start with, the door mirrors are cleverly designed to change their orientation when you put the 607 into reverse, giving you a good view of the lower body sill and rear wheels. Ultrasonic sensors located in the lower front and rear panels let you know the instant you re in danger of bumping into an obstacle, even if you can t see it.the audio alarm gives off a series of acoustic beeps the frequency increases as you get nearer to the obstacle. The 607 even looks after you once you ve parked. As soon as you lock the doors, the door mirrors fold down automatically to protect against possible knocks. And if it s dark, the headlights will stay on for a few seconds to see you safely to your door. Parking assistance is also displayed in the form of graphic bars on the multifunction display. Time to switch on your headlamps or the windscreenwipers? You ll find the 607 has just taken care of it, as if it could read your mind Wondering how the 607 does it? Well, for a start there s a dual sensor located at the top of the windscreen which detects falling light levels outside the car and switches on the headlamps automatically when it gets too dark or you enter a tunnel. The windscreen wipers are controlled by a clever little rain sensor that s located at the top of the front windscreen. This automatically controls the operation of the front windscreen wipers and alters their speed to match the intensity of the rain. Additionally, the electrochrome interior rear-view mirror and door mirrors are equipped with glass that darkens and brightens under the effect of excessively intense light to make sure you re not dazzled by cars behind you. Plus, for your safety, the doors and the boot are locked automatically as soon as you exceed a speed of 6 mph. The rain sensor activates the windscreen wipers as soon as it starts to rain. The electrochrome rear-view mirrors prevent you from being dazzled by the headlamps of following vehicles.

14 Trust // 27 Intelligence that protects Optimised suspension, efficient braking, ESP-optimised stability, high-performance lighting When it comes to active safety, the 607 uses its intelligence to protect you. As well as a reinforced body structure and a high-performance braking system, the Peugeot 607 features an impressive array of passive and active safety features. The 607 has been designed to give you confidence from the second you pull away. Start to put it through its paces take it through a few twisting bends and you ll really start to appreciate its exemplary road-holding. McPherson type front suspension, anti-roll bars and hydraulic dampers help keep you firmly glued to the road. Excellent body rigidity plus powerful and durable braking gives you a sense of reassurance. In addition to that, variable electric power steering gives you precision on the open road and extra assistance when you re parking. But that s not all.to retain optimal balance and preserve your driving pleasure in difficult situations, the 607 s braking system combines several functions: Anti-lock braking system (ABS) controls your trajectory during emergency braking. Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBFD) controls braking wheel by wheel for greater efficiency, particularly when braking in corners. Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) enhances the effectiveness of your braking if necessary. The ESP (Electronic Stability Program), available as an option, offers two additional functions: Traction control (ASR) acts on the brakes and the engine management to limit wheel slip if grip is lost. Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) continuously compares information transmitted by the steering wheel sensor and the yaw sensor to detect any incipient understeer or oversteer and returns your 607 to its initial trajectory. With 4 stars in the Euro NCAP tests to protect adult occupants of the vehicle (ADULT OCCUPANT PROTECTION), the 607 protects you in a number of ways. Eight air bags as standard In the event of an accident two front air bags inflate at a speed which reflects the intensity of impact. Two front side air bags protect the pelvis and abdomen. At the rear, the curtain and side air bags specifically protect the head and chest of the passengers. Tyre under-inflation detector Connected to pressure and temperature sensors on each wheel, the under-inflation detector reacts to two types of malfunction: under-inflation or puncture. Both are indicated by a pictogram on the instrument panel. Automatic illumination of hazard warning lights Activated by sharp deceleration, your hazard warning lights come on automatically to alert drivers behind, leaving you free to concentrate on the road ahead. Xenon headlights Powerful and bright, they won t dazzle oncoming drivers and offer enhanced visibility in poor conditions or if you re driving at night. Speed limiter and cruise control Thanks to the variable speed limiter, you can program a speed that you do not wish to exceed.the cruise control allows you to maintain a stable speed, without having to touch the accelerator. Fasten seat belt indicator Visual and audible warning signals inform the driver and front passenger that they have forgotten to fasten their seat belts and remind the rear passengers to put their belts on too.
