What does Q-secure give your customers? Like a bi-fold door, the sashes fold back to the side to allow a full opening, offering barrier-free living. Unlike bi-fold doors, the sashes do not run on wheels, and you don t have to open multiple sashes at the same time. Instead, after the main passage sash has been opened, the others slide independently on low-friction tracks to locate into their fold position. Opening the sliding sashes is easily achieved by moving each sash across the opening until it locates in the landing gate that allows it to fold open. This takes minimal effort, even on large and heavy sashes weighing up to 80Kg. Once the sash is in position it can be opened fully. Repeat this for all the sashes on the door or window for a full opening. If preferred, once the main sash is opened, the user can opt to simply move the sliding sashes within the frame opening, without reaching the fold position, to create flexible ventilation. Alternatively, move only some of the sashes to the open position and have a split opening. The choice is with the end user to position the sashes as they wish, offering more flexibility in use than a traditional bi-folding door. The only fixed hinges are on the main passage sash and these, like the sliding components, are concealed within the frame rebate. This means that the only hardware item visible when the product is fully closed is the handle (and profile cylinder), leaving just the uninterrupted clean lines of the profile. Not only does this provide the door or window with an elegant appearance but also makes it easier to keep clean. Another benefit of having fully concealed hardware is that any would-be burglar does not know the best points to attack. The main door sash is hung on bespoke concealed hinges that will carry a sash weighing up to 0Kg. This sash is secured with an offthe shelf multi-point lock. I-Bolt interlocking devices secure the sliding sashes, either sash to sash or sash to frame, to provide security and weather tightness. Manufacturers benefit from the fact that only standard profiles are used. No special profiles are required, as is the case with inline bi-fold doors. 40 E & OE VBH

The roller assemblies and hinges are fixed into the door rebates rather than face-fixed to the sash and frame, with only the hinge knuckles showing when the door is closed. The rollers and guides run in top and bottom tracks which are neatly encapsulated within the frame. Brushes on the roller assembly clear away any dust or dirt that gathers in the track to ensure a smooth sliding operation. Perfect operation is further aided by the 5mm vertical adjustment provided through the roller. For guaranteed performance and long term reliability all products must be installed and maintained* in accordance with the following recommended guidelines. Window & Door Handles and Furniture Handle screws must not be over tightened as this may impair the operation of the hardware. All turning points on handles must be lightly lubricated twice per year. Surfaces must be regularly cleaned with a soft damp cloth to remove any dust or grime, taking care not to scratch the surface. Window and Door Hinges Ensure that the correct size and type of hinge detailed in the relevant brochure is fitted according to window/door type, size and weight. Fixings must be into reinforcement using corrosion resistant screws taking care not to over tighten them. All pivot points must be lightly lubricated, fixings checked and the friction stay sliding channel wiped with a clean cloth, twice per year. Window and Door Locking Mechanisms Profile to be routed for gearbox in accordance with hardware manufacturer s guidelines, copies of which are available upon request. Excess swarf must be removed. Final adjustments should be made after installation to ensure positive engagement of all locking points and smooth closing operation.
