The original kit was first released in 1973, and most recently in The Type 49 made its debut in Another ground-breaking piece of racing car engineering from Team Lotus, an innovative structural design attached the Cosworth DFV engine directly to the rear bulkhead as a stressed member. Thus, the DFV became an active element of the chassis which transmitted forces. This idea from famed designer Colin Chapman of Team Lotus reinvigorated his team, as the Type 49 roared to victory in the 1967 Dutch Grand Prix, its maiden Formula One race. 3 further wins followed that season as the car was piloted by the famed duo of Jim Clark and Graham Hill, and next year 5 more victories were added. The Type 49 contributed to 2 Constructors' titles before it was retired in About the Model This is a 1/12 scale plastic model assembly kit. Length: 360mm. The sleek form of the Type 49 is accurately captured, with a faithful reproduction of the Cosworth DFV engine with pipes and wiring. The model also features moving suspension. Nose cowling can be removed after assembly to allow inspection of the internal mechanisms. New photo-etched parts are included to depict brake discs, radiator mesh, seatbelt parts and more. Air funnels are also authentically recreated using new aluminum parts. High-quality Cartograf decals are included to recreate cars from the 1967 Dutch and Belgian GPs. RE-ISSUE Image shows original Item The 1/12 Scale Motorcycle Series receives a boost with the re-release of this classic item that first went on sale back in The model depicts the 1981 version of the Honda CR250R, a revolutionary bike that broke new ground for the Japanese giant as it was their first production model in the 250cc class to use a liquid cooled engine. In fact, it inherited much of its design from the RC250M, which was champion in the 1980 All Japan Motocross Championship, including Honda s unique Pro-Link monoshock suspension that provided the progressive damping necessary on testing motocross surfaces. RE-ISSUE Image shows original Item This is a re-release of the Suzuki RM250, which also originally went on sale back in By 1982, Suzuki had already built up a long history of competing in the Motocross World Championship, and enjoyed tremendous success with 3 back-to-back 250cc titles from 1970 and 10-in-a-row in the smaller 125cc class from They also had a long-standing tradition of releasing their championship bikes as production models, and the 1982 version of the RM250 continued in that vein. With Suzuki s maiden 250cc-class liquid cooled engine providing 43hp, weighing in at a mere 97kg, and employing the Japanese company s original full floater suspension, Suzuki was onto a winner and the bike sold well in countries across the world. It depicts the 1981 variant of the CR450R which Honda released to compete in 500cc class motocross races. The single cylinder 431cc air-cooled 2-stroke engine at the time had the highest output on offer among Honda production motocross models at 51.5hp, plus a semi-double cradle frame using Honda s unique Pro-Link rear suspension. With a dry weight of just 104kg, the lightweight CR450R was used by many 500cc motocross racers across the world. Later, the 1983 variant received a 472cc engine and evolved into the CR480R. Image shows prototype The 4-door sedan Skyline 2000 GT-R and its 2-door hard top counterpart were released to great acclaim in 1969 and 1970 respectively. Such an excited reception was little wonder, as the car utilized a detuned R380 (concept car) engine to rack up 50 Japanese race wins and earn it a place in the pantheon of legendary Japanese cars. Now, the Skyline 2000 GT-R 2-door hard top model gets a welcome re-release (original Item no ) in 1/24 scale with parts depicting typical customizations of the car from its heyday: a "street custom" version. About the Model This is a 1/24 scale plastic model assembly kit. The model accurately captures the classic form of the Skyline 2000 GT-R. Parts are included to depict RS Watanabe 8-spoke wheels, front spoiler. Comes with photo-etched parts recreating seatbelt buckles and strut tower brace. The BRZ, of course, is a highpowered front engine rear-wheel drive sports car with tuned front strut and rear double wishbone suspension. In keeping with its sporty profile, the BRZ is frequently customized by its owners, and one of the main sources of customizing parts is Subaru Tecnica International (STI) - a company in the same group as Subaru. They offer a wide range of parts to tune different areas of the car. Now, newly-designed parts are included in this kit to depict such customizations. About the model This is a 1/24 scale plastic model assembly kit. Length: 178mm, width: 84mm. The sporty form of the BRZ is captured faithfully by the model. Image shows prototype In the lead-up to WWII, Germany started to transform civilian vehicles into military ones, and one of the subjects was a light 6-wheel truck which was mass-produced starting in This 1936 evolution of the truck had a 60hp flat four square cylinder engine that mustered 55hp and provided up to 70km/h. The truck saw use transporting personnel and light artillery, and utilized 6x4 independent suspension with rear 4-wheel drive. The first mass-produced variant was the Kfz.69, which was designed to tow a 3.7cm Pak 35/36 anti-tank gun and carried a driver and 5 artillery crew. It was employed as standard equipment in anti-tank artillery divisions and was saw action in locations such as France, Poland, the Balkans, and Russia. About the Model This is a 1/48 scale plastic model assembly kit. The model accurately recreates the form of the Kfz.69 with sloping engine hood and rear-mounted ammo cases. The newly-designed recreation of the 3.7cm Pak gun can be assembled to depict the weapon being towed by the Kfz.69, or being fired. J Image shows prototype The latest addition to the popular 1/48 Military Miniature Series recreates the versatile British armored scout car Dingo Mk.II. Production of the Mk.I evolution of the vehicle began in 1939, around a year after the vehicle was first commissioned by British authorities. It came in at a compact 3.17m in length and 1.7m wide, was ably cushioned by wishbone suspension with coil springs, and thanks to 4-wheel steering with a preselector gearbox it was a highly mobile machine. However, the 4-wheel steering proved somewhat difficult in many hands, and it was phased out in favor of front-wheel steering on the 1941 Mk.II variant. Around 5,000 Mk.II scout cars would be produced between then and 1944, serving in Africa, Italy and even the Normandy landings. Excellent in its own right as a stand-alone model, this piece will also be of great interest to those creating dioramas, particularly those centered around British vehicles. Image shows prototype Hot on the heels of the acclaimed motorized model of the British Mk.IV Male tank, Tamiya is delighted to announce that the 1/35 Motorized Tank Series will be boosted by the release of the French B1 bis as a motorized model, allowing you to experience the excitement of seeing this detailed Tamiya kit in motion! Upon the outbreak of WWII, B1 bis tanks stood in the way of German armies determined to strike a crushing blow against France on her own soil. The B1 bis entered production in 1937 and was an upgraded version of the original 1920s-designed Char B1. The rivet-joined hull mounted a short-barreled 75mm howitzer, while a small, oneman turret carried a longer-barreled 47mm tank gun. The B1 bis was one of the most heavily armored tanks of its time, with plating that was 60mm thick in places, amply capable of defending it against anti-tank fire such as that from 37mm Pak guns. It could more than hold its own against individual German tanks, and was greatly feared by enemy soldiers who encountered it. Illustration shows actual vehicle The latest addition to the 1/35 scale Military Miniature series depicts the Toyota AB phaeton, a vehicle first produced in 1936 and which was part of the line started by the famed Japanese maker s first mass-produced car: the AA. The AB shared much of its design with the AA, such as the 3.4-liter inline-6 engine and body lines influenced heavily by U.S. road cars. Where it differed from the AA, however, was in its folding cloth roof, movable front windscreen and front-hinged doors. In fact, with war breaking out so soon after its initial production, the vast majority of ABs never in fact made it into private owners hands but were rather sent for military use; painted in khaki, they were often used as staff cars. 353 Toyota ABs were manufactured up until the end of WWII. About the Model This is a 1/35 scale plastic model assembly kit. Image shows prototype CAD data The latest addition to the 1/35 Military Miniatures series is this entirely newly-designed kit of the fearsome German tank destroyer Jagdpanzer IV Lang. The original Jagdpanzer IV tank destroyer was based upon the Panzer IV vehicle and used extensive sloped armor with the 48-caliber 7.5cm gun that had already proven its worth on other vehicles. In January 1944, it was decided to upgrade the Jagdpanzer IV, with the powerful 70-caliber 7.5cm anti-tank gun installed in place of the original 48-caliber weapon. This bigger gun was fitted to the Jadgpanzer IV with the intention of giving it the ability to destroy Allied tanks without even entering their weapons range. It was also the origin of the name Lang, which translates into English as "long". The (V) was applied to vehicles manufactured by the German company Vomag. 930 Jagdpanzer IV /70(V) Lang vehicles were manufactured between August 1944 and March 1945, with German forces taking advantage of the exceptional range of the gun, employing it in both defensive and ambush roles even as their military situation worsened. With this December also marking 70 years since the Battle of the Bulge, which was effectively the final German offensive of WWII, this model is right on time to liven up your late Second World War dioramas. Vought Image shows actual aircraft Tamiya is delighted to announce this highly detailed model recreating the F4U-1A variant of last year s highly popular Corsair model. Newly-designed parts are included in the kit to accurately capture the modifications which distinguish it from the original F4U-1. The F4U-1A drew on the experience of Navy and US Marine Corps pilots experience with the original aircraft, making modifications to further improve the performance of this legendary bird. One of the most noticeable alterations was the discarding of the birdcage cockpit and its extensive frame sections that hampered visibility; a semi-bubble canopy with minimal frame was installed instead, which improved the pilot s view and made it easier to land the F4U-1A. Additional upgrades included raising the pilot s seat 18cm to help with visibility, and later extending tail wheel struts by 16.5cm. A wedgeshaped spoiler was added to the starboard wing to correct the tendency of the port wing to stall first and roll out of control. Such modifications contributed greatly to the F4U-1A's suitability for use from aircraft carriers, although by this time it had been passed over for that duty by the F6F Hellcat. Unlike its predecessor, the F4U-1A would later be used as fighter-bomber, and was given the capability of carrying a drop tank under the fuselage, plus a bomb rack for use on raids supporting ground troops. This combination of fearsome performance in the air and bombing capability made the F4U-1A a vital component as the Allied forces conducted their 'island hopping' strategy progressing through the Solomon Islands.
