2 Windward Difference Made With Pride ^ Internally reinforced extrusions ^ The all new Sienna Deep Seating MGP collection, see page 7 Extruded luminum Products Windward uses the highest quality materials available for outdoor furniture manufacturing. ll of our aluminum furniture is manufactured with commercial-grade, domestically milled, extruded aluminum. Many of Windward s extrusions are proprietary and have internal reinforcing ribs to provide the additional strength expected when purchasing quality, domestically manufactured furniture. Made With Pride To ensure lasting color and quality, our frames are sandblasted to create an ideal bonding surface. This preparation ensures your powder coat frame finish will not peel or chip. It is also an environmentally friendly alternative to other frame preparations used by other manufacturers. Marine Grade Polymer Products In 2012 Windward proudly introduced marine grade polymer (MGP) into its product lineup. Since then it has expanded by adding new collections each year, including the all-new Covina and Sienna this year. MGP is a domestically made material that was originally designed to hold up in salt water environments on boats without fading or breaking down and eventually made the natural transition into outdoor furnishings. Made from prime High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Will not warp, fade or chemically breakdown even in harsh salt water or chlorinated environments Material has specially formulated UV inhibitors Easy to clean! MGP is a non-porous material that will not absorb dirt, chemicals or liquids (including red wine) Substantial weight makes it great for windy environments Marine grade stainless steel hardware Significantly stronger, more scratch resistant and durable than furniture from 100% recycled material Woven Products Windward wicker collections are made from high quality synthetic wicker weave and extruded aluminum frames. This extruded resin is made with mildew deterrents, UV inhibitors to protect against sun damage and is water resistant. Each collection has it s own unique multi-toned, textured, natural look. Wicker frames are imported, all cushions (except for Iris) are made to order at our factory in Sarasota, FL. Padded Slings Padded slings combine the low maintenance of a sling with the comfort of a cushion. It is an affordable alternative to cushion furniture, while not relinquishing the many cushion fabric design options. Padded slings use a sling fabric on the back, which makes up the support of the chair and a cushion fabric (or sling) on the front. Nonabsorbent polyester is used in between the two as the padding. Polyester is mold & mildew resistant and also allows water to drain right through, giving your padded sling a quick drying time. Waterproof Fabrics Windward offers Sunbrella Rain waterproof performance fabrics in over twenty-five fabrics and the Outdura Crypton fabrics, which are available for quantity orders. In 1991, he was able to move the business from his backyard to a 12 x 24 storage unit located in Bradenton, FL, where his manufacturing equipment grew to include a diacro hand bender, a chop saw, a drill press, and a welder. David was still the company s only employee. s the business and reputation progressed, David began manufacturing raw frames and component parts for other manufacturers and refinishers throughout Florida. Five years later, and a few factory moves across town, Peace purchased a small powder coating system and he began selling powder coated frames. The company s payroll increased to include about twenty employees and the business expanded to manufacturing complete strap furniture, earning the company a strong reputation for providing quality commercial grade furniture. In 1997, The Windward Design Group was born as a sister company to Royal Patio. That first year, Windward developed the first sling style dining chair and began selling them to retailers across Florida. The factory soon grew to include a sewing room, allowing the expansion of the furniture line to include cushion-style seating. By 2002, Windward was manufacturing eighteen different collections of furniture, including deep seating, cushion dining, sling and strap styles. In 2006, the line increased to include padded sling. couple of years later, Windward launched the Replacement Cushion Division. Now the Windward product offering includes eight wicker collections and twelve marine grade polymer collections. Today, Windward Design Group operates in Sarasota, FL, where they produce over thirty-five collections, a full line of replacement cushions and employ over one hundred and thirty people. David Peace is still the President and two of his five children work by his side. lthough many things have changed the business culture has remained the same. 63 Warranty Care & Maintenance Preparing For Winter Gather the fire wood and bring out the long johns, winter is coming and the best thing that you can do for your furniture is to put it in hibernation mode. We recommend placing your furniture in storage or covering it with a tarp and that you store all cushions and pillows indoors for the winter. Powder Coated luminum Frames Chlorinated water and salt water can both be wearying on your furniture. Use a mixture of mild detergent and water to gently wash your frame of any dirt, salt or chemicals. void using harsh chemicals or abrasive brushes. We recommend using your preferred car wax on frames at least once a year to protect and maintain the original luster. Vinyl Straps For vinyl straps use a mixture of water and a mild detergent. It is best to avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive brushes. Umbrellas Only use mild detergent, soap and warm water. Do not use harsh, discordant or abrasive chemicals or cleaners. Do not use bleach. Do not use wax. Read below for fabric cleaning instructions. crylic Tops Clean acrylic tops using soap and water only. Faux Stone Tops Maintain the look of your Faux Stone top by washing it with a mixture of mild detergent and water. void using harsh chemicals or abrasive brushes. Nylon Glides Nylon glides are used to protect your furniture and to protect the floor it is placed on. Glides can be easily replaced, call for ordering information. Marine Grade Polymer Clean everyday dirt and stains with a cleaner, such as Soft Scrub and a non-abrasive dish sponge. Tough stains can be soaked in bleach. Wicker Clean wicker frames using a mixture of water and mild detergent with a soft sponge or cloth. Rinse clean. Commercial Warranty Windward Design Group offers the following commercial warranty to the original purchaser with proof of purchase. Photos may be required to file a claim. This commercial warranty does not apply to beach rentals. Frames Windward Design Group warrants all aluminum frames against defects in material and workmanship for five (5) years from original date of purchase. If your frame fails structurally during normal use, Windward will repair or replace (at the manufacturer s discretion) the frame with the same product at no charge. If the product or frame finish has been discontinued, a similar item will be used. This includes labor during the first twelve (12) months. Note: Glide replacement is a necessary function in maintaining the furniture and should be inspected on an annual basis, or more frequently, depending on the level of usage. Replacement glides are available for purchase from Windward. Note that many of our sling dining chairs require additional bracing (i.e. bolt thru) to be warranted for commercial use. Please refer to the Windward Contract catalog and price list for more information on which collections this applies to. CST LUMINUM FURNITURE Cast aluminum frames are warranted against manufacturer defects in material and workmanship for one (1) year from original date of purchase Wicker Furniture Wicker frames are warranted for three (3) years against manufacturer defects in materials and workmanship. The resin wicker is warranted for one (1) year against discoloration and breakage. Glass table tops that come standard with wicker tables are not covered in this warranty. Marine Grade Polymer ll marine grade polymer furniture frames and tabletops are warranted for five (5) years against material defects, discoloration or cracking and are warranted for one (1) year against workmanship and structural failure. Fire products ll fire pit hardware is warranted for one (1) year against manufacturers defects. The hardware includes: the burner, bowl, gas valves, hoses, wires and the igniter. See the warranty information included with each fire pit bowl for full warranty information. Vinyl Straps Windward Design Group warrants vinyl straps against breakage and rivet failure for three (3) years. Not covered is damage resulting from suntan lotions, bleach, solvents, strong chemicals, or the natural fading and normal wear and tear. The Versailles collection is warranted against cracking, peeling, or blistering for a period of one (1) year. Not covered is damage caused by the use of pressure washers, abrasive cleaners, bleach or other harmful chemicals. Natural fading and wear and tear from normal usage is expected and is not covered in this warranty. Minor variations in color and texture of finishes are not covered under this warranty. Slings, Padded Slings, Cushions, Umbrellas and Pillows Slings, padded slings, cushions, umbrellas and pillows are warranted for one (1) year from date of original purchase against manufacturing defects. This includes the fabric/sewing integrity and cushion/pad fill. Fading and or stretching resulting from normal usage are not covered by this warranty. Umbrella frames are warranted for one (1) year against manufacturing defects. Umbrella cord breakage on crank umbrellas is not covered. Table Tops Punched aluminum, marine grade polymer, and acrylic tabletops are warranted for one (1) year against warping. (Full marine grade polymer tabletop warranty can be found in Marine Grade Polymer section of this warranty.) Cast table tops and cast table base skirts are warranted for three (3) years against manufacturing defects. (See Powder Coated Frame Finishes section for cast and punched aluminum finish warranty.) What Is Not Covered: Scratching, chipping or grout pitting that normally occurs in grouted surfaces. Moisture can be absorbed into some stone and grout, which can then freeze and cause the stone to crack. This is not covered by the warranty. The glass wind guard used on fire pits. Breakage, chipping, scratching of Punched luminum, Fiberglass, Glass, crylic and Faux Stone table tops. (Faux Stone table tops are hand finished and no two tops are alike. Differences in color saturation and shade are expected.) Failure caused by fire, freight damage or acts of nature (such as, not limited to, freezing, high winds or animal defecation) Damage caused by suntan oil, bleach or any other abrasive cleaners or chemicals.
