General fixes as described on page New and Improved nesting engine available in Océ ProCut Prepress Océ ProCut Prepress 4.7 includes a different nesting engine than used on previous Océ ProCut versions. The new nesting engine performs better with regards to: Much better Layout and material utilization = more parts per sheet = LESS WASTE! Works based on a time-based parameter that can be set no need to play with parameters to tweak parts to fit materials Can be stopped quickly and reliably you do not have to wait for the nesting process to terminate first. Good layout is reached much faster than beforee typically within 5-10 seconds Nesting routine is less reliant on computer power Shape marks (registration marks) are inserted during nesting no extra process and time required. 2 Nesting now works on a time-based parameter! More time => means more calculations => Better layout = less waste! You can preset how much time Océ ProCut Prepress is allowed to spend on the nesting application for each media profile individually. Simply edit the media, via the nesting tab, to set a default time. Note that although you set the time to 45 seconds, you can still stop nesting earlier if you are satisfied with the layout, as you will see a visual of the nesting result live on your screen. 3 A new ACCEPT button has been added in the interface This allows the operator to terminate nesting calculations and keep the current layout. Typically, Océ ProCut Prepress will have found a very good layout within the first 5-10 seconds and this layout can be accepted by clicking on ACCEPT instead of waiting until the set time is reached. 5 2. Océ ProCut Vision fully supports RM-L 3.6kW router The new router module large with ARC is supported in Océ ProCut Vision 4.7. Implementation and controlling is identical as for the 1kW router (RM). Note! New cut media profiles for the 3.6kW router are added in the default media library! June 2017 R3 INTERNAL PAGE 5

6 3. Vision fully supports MAM-D dual marking module The MAM-Double is supported in ProCut Vision 4.7 enabling customers to mark materials using two different colors in the same sequence. 4. Auto Pilot support The optional Océ ProCut Auto Pilot is fully supported by Océ ProCut Vision and ProCut Prepress 4.7. Océ ProCut Auto Pilot is an option for the Océ ProCut cutter series, and delivers significant productivity gains, dramatically reducing manual operator intervention at the finishing stage, as it supportss the ability to continuously process cutting jobs. Océ ProCut Auto Pilot also greatly increases the flexibility around the cutter, allowing multiple jobs on multiple substrates to be cut together with just one mouse-click! Océ ProCut Auto Pilot automatically identifies and locates jobs placed on the cutter and starts cutting. June 2017 R3 INTERNAL PAGE 6

7 Uses Océ ProCut Prepress to generate unique fiducials for the Océ ProCut Auto Pilot option. This binary code is proprietary to Océ ProCut Auto Pilot and has proven to be easily identified on many substrates, including textiles and other irregular surfaces. However, do make own tests before promising customers that they will work on their materials! Setup media profile(s) to output fiducials: From the drop-down menu, select between code 39 (standard barcode for handheld scanners), overhead (fiducial barcode for Océ ProCut Auto Pilot) or one of each! 8 When the Océ ProCut Auto Pilot option is enabled in Océ ProCut Vision, three new buttons will be visible within the Océ ProCut Vision software. These new buttons are dependent on the specific cutter configuration. Start in Sheet Mode (cuts all jobs on the table, that can be recognized within the viewing area) Start in Roll Mode (cuts the job in the front and feeds forward, cuts the next job in front etc. etc.) Start in Tandem Mode (cuts all jobs is the activated zone, that can be recognized within the viewing area) Main screen of Océ ProCut Vision with two of the Auto Pilot buttons! Note! It is possible to combine routing and knife cutting at the same time using Auto Pilot. The Océ ProCut Vision Software will automatically enable Additional underlay on the cutter, thereby expecting the operator to have the routing underlay material placed under the routing job only! Knife jobs are placed directly on the conveyor belt / mat. June 2017 R3 INTERNAL PAGE 8

9 A hidden dialog is used to adjust the camera settings for Océ ProCut Auto Pilot. Hold SHIFT + normal mouse-click on any of the Océ ProCut Auto Pilot start buttons to open the dialog. Note! The cutter moves to the diagonal opposite corner from 0,0 origin and switches vacuum ON. This dialog is useful to check that fiducials are recognized by the Océ ProCut Auto Pilot camera and to see the activated field of view (calibrated area). Click Take Photo and see if fiducials are marked with a red circle! If not, adjust the camera settings and/or adjust the light source(s) over the cutter. External light and/or changing light conditions will influence the Océ ProCut Auto Pilot s ability to locate fiducials! Note! Leave F-number to 22, adjust ISO and shutter speed only! 10 5. General fixes A new default parameter in the media profile is available. You can pre-set the system to look for black or white registration marks when using the ICC camera. This eliminates the need to manually switch to white marks in the user interface every time substrates with white marks appear on the cutter! And when used in combination with Océ ProCut Auto Pilot, this is helpful since jobs can be mixed - some with black marks and some with white marks! June 2017 R3 INTERNAL PAGE 10
