4 Vehicle - Medical purpose Animals My Medical resources vehicle will be like an Elephant as it will be able to hold and carry a lot of objects and maintain its speed. Both of my vehicles will be like a Rhino as they will both be very sturdy and able to take a lot of hits and still be able to maintain its speeds and durability. My Heavy Cargo vehicle will be like a Jaguar because they will be very fast even on sand. My Heavy cargo vehicle will be like an Eagle as it will be have very good suspension and will be able to glide over the sand dunes and hills with ease. My Medical resources vehicle will be like a Yak as it will be big and intimating. My Medical resources vehicle will be like a Bull as it will be big, look intimidating and be quick while having weapons for offense and defence. My Medical resources vehicle will be like a Kangaroo as it will be able to carry things while maintaining high speeds and offensive manoeuvres.

5 This is one my designs for my heavy cargo vehicle. I have done smaller designs but I have mainly focused on the bigger one. I am planning to use the front of a truck, but then the back of car, in this case, a VW Beetle. I also plan to use tank tracks to make t easier to drive across the sand. Connected to the back is trailer with an abandoned bus welded to it. This is where the cargo, supplies go. As it will have valuable supplies, it will be protected with barbed wire, fence and spikes make from metal. This is one my designs for my heavy cargo vehicle. I have done smaller designs but I have mainly focused on the bigger one. Just like the other design, I plan to use the front of a truck and the back of a car. In this case it will be a Dodge Charger. As the other one had tank tracks, for this I plan to use the truck wheels. Connected to the back is trailer with an abandoned bus welded to it. This is where the cargo, supplies go. As it will have valuable supplies, it will be protected with barbed wire, fence and spikes make from metal. I wanted to use two engines because this is a big truck and would need the power. I would use tank tracks to help stabilise the big and heavy truck.

6 These are designs for my medical vehicle, I will not be making a model of this as I want to use my time wisely and focus on one so I can make it as good as I can and not have to worry abut rushing too much to get them both finished. For my medical vehicle I wanted to have this vehicle as a Bus or a Pickup truck, this would allow room for a patient and or surgery or any means of medical attention to be able to undergo will it being drive. On the front windshield would be metal to act as a bulletproof shield for the driver.

8 This is one of my designs with some colour added to help me envision my model. I used tank tracks as this is a big vehicle and will need to be stable and sturdy but also maintain a high speed. I wanted to use big wheels as again it a big vehicle and will need to be sturdy but also keep a high

9 My plan is to use the front of a truck and the back of a car. It will look like it has been welded together at the hinges. I wanted a post apocalyptic feel to he vehicle so I will add rust in the textures.

11 Making the model To start I choose the box and made it the size I wanted. This would be the front part of the truck. I then bevelled the front of the truck to make this look like a grill. I will later add a front guard. Then using the vertex selection, I choose each vertex and moved them up to make this space for a tyre. I then used the face selection tool and the move tool to make this exhaust, I have made this look rounded as it is on a real truck. I then started to make the blower for the engine, I wanted to use this to make it more menacing and look like it has alot of power. I bevelled three circles in the front to look like the real thing. I then moved the bottom of the blower to look a lot better. I also added fuel can at the side of the model under where the doors will be. I did this using the vertex selection and move tool. I then bevelled where the front windows will be, and extruded above them to make this flap onto the model. I then added an extra part on top of the exhaust, this will be more like a real truck. I then extruded the back of the truck for a platform for the back of another car. To make the car I just extruded the back of the truck and using the vertex selection and move tool, I moved the parts around to make the shape I wanted.

12 I added two tyre connectors for the wheels using the extrusion and face selection tool. To make more sense I connected the truck and the other car to make it look like it is one vehicle. I next added two cylinders under the door and next to the door. These will be the gas tanks and air filters. I wanted to add these for extra realism. I added cylinders together to make a front guard for the grill. As I am doing only one side of the model and then I will clone it and flip it then I only have to do one front guard. As I had finished the model I could then move on to animating the wheels. I added a chassis for the front wheels using the extrusion tool. To take it away from the blocky look, I am making the shape a lot better by extruding the faces above the wheels and under the door. Unwrap model To unwrap my model I first selected my model, then added the unwrap UV modifier. Then using the face selection tool I selected the parts I wanted then in the UV window I broke it, quick peeled and then moved and scaled them to fit on the page. I would do this for my whole model and the parts I have added separately. After I unwrapped my model, I then added my textures to the Slate Material Editor, I added the diffuse, bump and normal maps for the textures. After I added to the editor I then connected them to each corresponding connection. Then once I was finished, and happy with my texture I would select the faces that I wanted to add a texture to. Then dragged it from the editor to the faces.

13 Final model This is my final model, I have added an extra blower for the engine to give it that powerful intimerdating look, A front gaurd as it will be ramming other vehicles and it needs to be sturdy, and also wing mirrors just to add realism to the car.

15 Gas tank Engine blower Air filter Evaluation Truck Tyres For my vehicle I have chosen to use the main body of a truck, and the back end of a car. I choose this because I want my world to have little to no resources. So whatever you found you would use even if you didn t need it just because the world is so bare. I wanted to make it look powerful and sturdy, I added two blowers for the engine to give it the intermediating look and big tyres with pointy tracks to make it looks sturdy and stable in the sand and dessert. I have shown my final design, my rendered images, my model in clay and wire frame. I have also included my UV wraps for model and everything that is added on the model. Designing the model; For my first concepts and designs of my model, I had sped through this step so I could start modelling as quick as possible because I had a plan in my head on what I was going to do. If I was to do this unit again I would definitely spend a lot more time on the design part. I had made mood boards for my model but only experimented and used two or three images. Making my model; In this project using 3ds Max wasn t much of a challenge this time round as I am familiar with the basics of how to make a model and how to texture. I used most of the tools like, poly selection tool, edge selection tool and the vertices selection tool. I had a bit of problems when unwrapping my model as I had made a lot of unwanted geometry, by cutting faces and bridging them back the wrong edges will cause it to create geometry so when you unwrap it will create faces that will be hard to deselect. Exporting and Importing my model into Unity was very easy and quick. Coding my model; Overall I have had not too many problems while coding my model. The main problem that I don t know how to fix, is that when I start my game my front wheels rotate 90 degrees but work fine, its just that look a bit stupid and don t look like they work. The DriveMe code works fine, my wheels turn, my car brakes and accelerates and my model was intact through the export and import process. Overall I think that I didn t spend enough time on the design and concept stage rather hurried to the model process. This does mean that I spent more time working on my model as I had a few problems with the geometry which kept me back a few times fixing it. As a result of this I didn t have a lot of time to texture, I hurried at last minute to get it textured.

16 Unity-importing my model and making an environment. For my environment I will use the same one as I made in the environment project as a base. I will add another piece of terrain to make the world larger. I will keep the same style of rocky dessert with sand roads and have like a race track in the dessert. This is my DriveMe code, this is what drives and moves the car. It has code for the engine power, the brakes and the steering. This is the terrain I added after I had made it to my liking. I used the terrain tool with different brushes to make the spiked mountains and bumps.
