5 Executive Summary The Company PLB-KH Bina Sdn Bhd ( PKH/ The Company ) is a wholly owned subsidiary of PLB Engineering Berhad; a public-listed company on Bursa Malaysia. PKH is the construction arm and one of the major revenue contributor to PLB Engineering Berhad. The Company had its inception in 1973 when it commenced business in foundry works, steel fabrication, and the fabrication of machinery parts. To date, PKH has grown to be a premier contractor with a paid up capital of RM20 million. The company is registered as a CIDB Grade G7 Contractor, CIDB International Registered Contractor, CIDB Sijil Perolehan Kerja Kerajaan (SPKK) Grade G7 Contractor and SPAN Type C1 Contractor thereby allowing the Company to undertake building construction projects of unlimited value. PKH has also been certified by Sirim QAS Sdn Bhd of MS ISO 9001:2008 for Provision of Construction Services In Building and Civil Engineering Works and Design Coordination and Management of Turnkey Projects. In the area of project planning, redesigning and operations management, Dato' Dr. Ong Seng Soon, the Managing Director of PKH, leads a well-balanced team of engineers and project managers. Financial Highlights PKH has had an average turnover of RM 88.3 million per year for the past 5 financial years. Our average shareholders' fund and total assets for the past 5 financial years are RM32.3 million and RM81.3 million respectively. List of Assets - Heavy Machinery and Equipment For flexibility in machinery and equipment supply to the construction site, PKH has its own fleet of heavy machinery and motor vehicles to support our construction activities. The logistics support enables us to manage our projects more efficiently to ensure on-time completion of our constructions. Expertise PKH has extensive experience in handling industrial, commercial, hotel and residential building constructions including turnkey projects that are Design and Build in nature. 9 The Company PLB- KH Bina Sdn Bhd Pic: Our staff at our project site in Penang. PLB-KH Bina Sdn Bhd ( PKH/ the Company ) was incorporated in Malaysia on 22 August 1985 as a private limited company. The Company is a wholly subsidiary of PLB Engineering Berhad; a publiclisted company on Bursa Malaysia with a paid-up capital of RM 91.3 million. The principal activity of PKH is the construction of buildings and infrastructure in the industrial, commercial, hotel and residential sectors. PKH provides designing, planning and management support services in civil engineering, structural and piling projects. The Company has also accumulated experience and expertise in the management of Turnkey projects where we provide a comprehensive package of services in design, construction and project management. To date, PKH has undertaken a multitude of construction projects of various designs and structures throughout the nation. The strong foundation and experience of PKH's management team in the construction industry has been honed for more than 30 years since Led by Dato' Ong Choo Hoon, the Executive Chairman of PKH and the founder of the company, the Company's business commenced with steel and metal fabrication and later expanded into construction in Currently, the day to day operations, planning and strategic management come under the purview of Dato' Dr. Ong Seng Soon, the Managing Director, who has propelled the Company to greater heights with construction as the prime contributor. PKH is registered as a PKK Class A, CIDB Grade G7 and SPAN Type C1 contractor which allows the Company to tender and participate in the construction of government and private projects of unlimited value. 15 Management Team With over 42 years of experience in the construction industry, the Group Executive Chairman Dato' Ong Choo Hoon, plays an important role in the company. On the day-to-day management, he is supported by a strong team of qualified engineers and professionals who have proven track record in the construction industry. DATO' SERI ONG CHOO HOON, aged 76, is the Group Executive Chairman. He is the founder of the PLB Group and has more than 54 years of experience in the machinery, engineering and construction industry. He was actively involved in machine engineering contracts and provision of maintenance services from 1962 to 1975 before he subsequently ventured into the construction business in Dato' Ong Choo Hoon has also embarked on a number of successful property development projects over the years. He represents PLB-KH Bina Sdn. Bhd. as the patron of the Penang State Foundry and Engineering Industries Association. He is responsible for the overall management and strategic planning of the Group. Currently, he also sits on the board of several private limited companies. DATO' DR. RICKSON ONG, aged 50 is the Managing Director. He holds a degree of Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Construction Management from Clayton University, United States of America. He joined PLB-KH Bina Sdn. Bhd as a Site Engineer in 1989 and was responsible for the site and construction management of all major construction projects undertaken by the Company. Since his appointment to the Board of PLB-KH Bina Sdn. Bhd and the Company, his in-depth knowledge of the construction industry has contributed significantly to the growth and the expansion of PLB Group. Dato' Dr. Rickson Ong oversees the operations management, corporate development and marketing for the PLB Group. Dato' Dr. Rickson Ong is the Chairman of the Corporate Governance Committee and Chairman of various working committees in the Group. She has over 38 years of working experience in purchasing, accounting and office administration. Subsequently, she was specially assigned to oversee the Finance and Human Resource and Administration Departments. Currently, she oversees the Human Resource, Procurement, Maintenance and Internal Audit Departments of the Company. Madam Ong Guat Beng also assists the Group Executive Chairman and Group Managing Director in the overall operations and management of the Company especially in site management, financial management, human resource management, property development, etc. Currently, she also sits on the board of several private limited companies within the Group. HAPPY NG, aged 54, is an Executive Director.
