BAHRU STAINLESS ANN JOO A delegation from MSI paid a courtesy visit to Ann Joo Resources Berhad on 2 February The delegation was welcomed by the Group Managing Director of Ann Joo, Dato Lim Hong Thye and Ms Loo Ling Hong, the Group Financial Controller. The meeting discussed at length Ann Joo s performance and insight on the consolidation effort as launched by MSI last year. MSI had the opportunity to visit the main stainless steel producer in Malaysia, Bahru Stainless Sdn Bhd on 13 February Mr Oswald Wolfe, the Chief Executive Officer of Bahru Stainless also took the team for a tour of their huge plant in Tg Langsat. CSC STEEL On 14 February 2017, MSI visited another steel player in the South, CSC Steel Holdings Berhad, located in Ayer Keroh, Melaka. The team was given a warm welcome by the Managing Director, Mr Chen Huo Kun and his team.

2 THE STEEL NOTICE BOARD February TS LAW HOLDING SOUTHERN STEEL After the visit to Southern Steel Berhad s plant in Penang, MSI met with Mr Chow Chong Long, the Group Managing Director of Southern Steel at their office in Shah Alam. The meeting on 15 February 2017 was to gain insight from Southern Steel regarding the consolidation effort as promoted by the Government. TS Law Holding is a diversified group of companies which owns Hiap Teck Venture Berhad, Eastern Steel Sdn Bhd and Alpine Pipe Manufacturing Sdn Bhd; three major players for iron and steel industry. On 15 February 2017, a delegation from MSI was welcomed by TS Law Holding s Executive Chairman, Tan Sri Dato David Law Tien Seng. The brief meeting discussed on the companies future plan and feedback on the consolidation effort. FIW FIW Steel Sdn Bhd located in Shah Alam, Selangor is a pioneer of the steel sheet galvanizing and its related products. Mr Jarrod Lim, the CEO of MSI was greeted by Mr Hideji Uenishi, the Managing Director of FIW during his visit on 23 February Mr Uenishi gave a briefing to Mr Lim on the company s products condition of the market. MASTEEL A team from MSI paid a visit to Malaysia Steel Works (KL) Bhd (Masteel) on 27 February The team was greeted by Dato Sri Tai Hean Leng, the Managing Director/CEO of Masteel and Mr George Lim, Vice President of Masteel. The meeting discussed mainly on Masteel s future plans and insight on consolidation.

3 THE STEEL NOTICE BOARD February MSI BRIDGING GAPS: DIALOGUE SESSION ON THE PROMOTION OF IRON & STEEL PRODUCTS Part of MSI s pledge is to promote and develop the competitiveness, resilience and sustainability of Malaysian iron and steel industry. Thus, MSI played a facilitative role in the Dialogue Session on the Promotion of Iron and Steel Products between MISIF and contractors of the PETRONAS RAPID Pengerang project. The dialogue took place at the Grand Paragon Hotel Johor Bahru on 13 February 2017.

4 THE STEEL NOTICE BOARD February MSI TrU: OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY & HEALTH (OSH) LEGAL COMPLIANCE FOR IRON & STEEL INDUSTRY On 23 and 24 February 2017, MSI organised OSH Legal Compliance for Iron & Steel Industry Training at Seminar Hall, MITI Tower. The inaugural training session by MSI received an encouraging participation by the industry. Other than the training session, participants were also taken for a brief tour of MITI Tower and MSI s office.

5 THE STEEL NOTICE BOARD February CNY CELEBRATION INVITATIONS MSI continuously foster closer relationship with the industry, especially during festive season. MSI representatives attended various Chinese New Year gatherings held by the industry and associations in the month of February.

6 THE STEEL NOTICE BOARD February MITI NETWORKING WITH AGENCIES IN CONJUNCTION WITH CNY CELEBRATION On 16 February 2017, MITI and agencies took the opportunity to celebrate the Chinese New Year together with the private sector. MITI Minister, Dato Sri Mustapa Mohamed, together with Minister II, Dato Seri Ong Ka Chuan greeted the representatives of the private sector who attended the lunch function. A lion dance was also performed to entertain all the guests.
