GENERAL WARNINGS WARNING: Installation of your TigerStop Product must be done by a person trained in the safe design and installation of automation products, and in the safe operation of power equipment. Ensure that such installation meets all legally required safety requirements and guidelines, and that proper guarding and safety devices are provided on all sides of the equipment to preclude unintended access during operation. Consult with and follow the recommendations of a qualifi ed safety engineer. WARNING: TigerStop Products are components intended for use in conjunction with potentially dangerous machinery. The use of TigerStop Products does not make other machinery safe. TigerStop Products are not intended to substitute, in any manner, for safe operating practices in general, or for safety features present in other machines designed to make those machines as safe as possible. INSTALLATION WARNINGS WARNING: TigerStop Products must be installed in accordance with all local, state, and federal regulations. Only personnel properly trained in the safe design and installation of automation machinery and related power equipment should install TigerStop Products onto other equipment, to ensure a safe and proper work station. TigerStop Products should not be operated without proper training, both in the operation of TigerStop Products, and in the operation of related equipment. IMPORTANT CAUTION: The motor box (compartment) contains DC voltage with potentially FATAL amperage. NEVER attempt any unauthorized actions inside the motor box. WARNING: Using a TigerStop interconnect does not relieve you of the responsibility for making sure that your saw or other tool has all the necessary safety equipment in place. All installations must meet all legally required safety requirements and guidelines. Installation and training should be done following the recommendations of a qualifi ed safety engineer. INTERCONNECTS OPERATION DANGER: This machine can start, move and stop automatically. Keep hands and loose clothing clear of moving parts while operating. Moving parts can crush and cut. When used with a saw or other cutting equipment, bodily injury and death may result if operated without safety guards on all machines. Do not operate with guards removed. Operators must wear adequate eye and ear protection. DANGER! Don t get pinched by the push feeder. Keep your hands away when in motion!

4 IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION. READ ALL WARNINGS BEFORE OPERATING THIS PRODUCT. Keep the work area clean and well lighted to avoid accidental injury. Do not use TigerStop machines in a dangerous environment. Using power tools in damp or wet locations or in rain can cause shock or electrocution. Do not operate near fl ammable liquids or in gaseous or explosive atmospheres! Wear proper apparel, no loose clothes, long hair or jewelry which could get pulled into moving machinery or materials. Wear non slip footwear, safety glasses, ear protection and a dust mask. Use only 3- wire extension cords that have 3-prong grounding type plugs and 3-pole receptacles that accept the tools plug for 120VAC. Use only 5-wire cords and plugs when using 3 phase. Do not open motor compartment or controller keypad. DC Voltage with potentially FATAL amperage! Disconnect power before servicing. No user-serviceable parts inside. DO NOT operate this or any machine under the infl uence of drugs or alcohol! No one should operate this machine except for fully qualifi ed personnel. Read the manual!

5 End Sensor Replacement TigerStop end sensors are an optical style sensor that tells TigerStop how far it can go in each direction. When installing new sensors, it is important to know that the TigerStop carriage has a fin on one side that goes through the optical channel of the sensor and interrupts the optical signal. Take care to not install the end sensor or the carriage upside down by accident. Remove Old Sensors 1. Power down TigerStop and unplug it from the wall before performing the installation. OFF UNPLUG 2. Remove the four acorn nuts from the end of the motor box and remove the motor box end cap and cover.

6 3. Remove the two end sensors and the encoder cable from the amplifier circuit board. UNPLUG 4. Remove the motor connections from the amplifier circuit board. Remove the motor ground wire from the chassis ground on the motor box chassis. UNPLUG Motor 3 Motor 2 - Motor Slide the amplifier (Still attached to the amplifier chassis) off of the support rails.

7 6. Loosen the motor mount bolt. 7. Remove the belt tensioning bolt from the end of the idle end cap. The idle end sensor will be attached to the cap. Remove the cap slowly and unscrew the idle end sensor from the cap. 8. Remove the orange trim strip that covers up the idle end sensor wire. Idle End Sensor Orange Trim Strip 9. Carefully pull the motor out of the TigerStop beam until the motor end sensor is clear of the beam. 10. Unscrew the motor end sensor from the motor mount. Motor End Sensor

8 11. Remove both end sensor wires from their white connectors, as shown. 12. Pull each sensor wire through its rubber grommet and out of the motor mount. 13. Discard the old sensors. PRESS REMOVE SLIDE REMOVE 14. Thread the new sensor wires through the rubber grommets in the motor mount. 15. Reattach sensors to their white connectors. Note: Each new sensor comes with a new white molex connector. The sensor wire must go into the connector in the right orientation or the wire will not lock in place. CLICK THROUGH THROUGH SLIDE 16. Put the TigerStop motor mount back into position. Ensure the motor end sensor slides back into its slot in the TigerStop beam. 17. Ensure the idle end sensor wire is threaded into its slot in the TigerStop beam when attaching the motor. Note: Take care to NOT pinch the idle end sensor wire during this step!

9 18. Tighten the motor mount bolt. 19. Return the amplifier (still connected to the chassis) to the guide rails. 20. Plug in the motor, end sensors and encoder connection to the amplifier circuit board. PLUG IN

10 PLUG IN Motor 3 Motor 2 - Motor Reassemble the motor box cover and the motor box end cap. 22. Thread the idle end sensor wire through the top channel on the back of the TigerStop beam. Cover up the wire with the orange trim strip. 23. Attach the idle end sensor to the idle end cap.

11 24. Insert the idle end sensor into the sensor slot. Make sure to loop the sensor wire as shown. 25. Push the idle end cap until it meets the TigerStop beam. Note: The idle end cap has a nook machined into the face that meets the TigerStop beam. Ensure the sensor wire goes into this nook. This keeps the sensor wire from being pinched by the idle end cap. 26. Thread the belt tension bolt through the idle end cap and into the idle end pulley assembly. 27. Tighten the motor tension bolt until you can only pull the end plate 1/16th inch away from the beam. Note: Do NOT skip this step. Failure to reach this starting tension may cause inaccuracies. 28. Using the Belt Tension Table, put the specified amount of tension turns on the motor tension bolt. Note: TigerStop working length is two feet less than the physical length. 1/16 in gap (1.58 mm) Belt Tension Table Working Turns Length You may now power up TigerStop as normal.

12 Setup Run the Home Routine Every time TigerStop is powered up, it performs the Home Routine. The Home Routine is a 3 step process where TigerStop will move to its farthest possible position. 1. Press START to run the Home Routine. 2. When movement stops, TigerStop will display the Ready Screen. Find the End Limits 1. Start at the Ready Screen. Press the [Show] soft key to display more options. 2. Press the [Menu] soft key to access the menu select screen. 3. TigerStop requires a password to access the menu screen. Enter your TigerStop password and press. Note: By default, the TigerStop password is set to the serial number. 1. At the menu select screen, press the [Setup] soft key to access the Setup menu. 2. Press or to scroll through the settings. Stop when you get to the FindLim setting. 3. Ensure TigerStop can move its entire travel without obstruction. 4. Press START to start the routine. Note: TigerStop will move! 5. When TigerStop has finished moving, you will be taken back to the FindLim screen.

13 Calibrate 1. From the FindLim screen, press until you get to the Calib screen. To calibrate TigerStop Cut a sample piece and carefully measure it. 2. Enter the length of the sample piece. 3. Press the to save the parameter. Scale New Scale =( 1. From the Calib screen, press until you get to the Scale screen. 2. Calibrate TigerStop at 10 inches. Note: Ensure you are perfectly accurate at 10 inches. 3. Move TigerStop to its longest dimension. 4. Measure this dimension. 5. If TigerStop is accurate, you are finished. If TigerStop is not accurate, continue to the next step. 6. Record where you sent TigerStop. Also record what you actually measured. 7. Using the equation below, find your new scale. Note: as shown, you will divide the dimension from step 3 by what you measured in step 4. Take this number and multiply it by your current scale setting. Note: By default, the TigerStop password is set to the serial number. 9. Enter your new Scale and press the [Done] soft key. TigerStop is now ready for use.
