3 NO SUBSTITUTE FOR QUALITY ALL-NATURAL COTTON DONT BE FOOLED BY LOW QUALITY IMITATION PRODUCTS We have actually seen a K&N air fi lter after million miles of use. That s when you realize that the extra effort up front makes a big difference down the road. Our panel air fi lters are single-piece injection molded on proprietary machinery that we design and build ourselves on-site here at K&N. Manufacturing fi lters on this highly specialized equipment involves precision, pressure, and exacting attention to detail. In fact, the line of urethane you see running along the perimeter of the fi lter media known as bleed is the direct result of intense pressure used during the manufacturing process to ensure that the seal on our fi lters is built to last far longer than the vehicle in which it is installed. STOP CHOKING YOUR ENGINE LET IT BREATHE Most paper or synthetic air fi lters operate on a surface-loading principal that can also be described as barrier fi ltration. Dirt that is captured on the surface prevents further airfl ow because that opening is now clogged. These fi lters experience a linear increase in restriction as they accumulate dirt. K&N invented depth-loading cotton air fi lters that are simply a better design for allowing your engine to breathe easier. Our High-Flow air fi lters use multiple layers of cotton gauze that create a threedimensional medium that can trap dirt on microfi bers that can then move out of the way of future airfl ow. Thousands of cotton microfi bers capture dirt while causing very little increase in restriction until the last 20% of our fi lters service life, after which, all you do is clean and re-install it. In short, you simply cannot fi nd a better techno logy for hitting the sweet spot that perfect balance between airfl ow, fi ltration effi ciency, dirt capacity and lifetime durability. 4 SPECIAL OIL TREATMENT A SPIDER WEB PRESENTS A STICKY SITUATION Nature has perfected the spider web to pass air while still trapping insects. It works because the web contains a sticky substance held in suspension. This is a good example of why the oil on our fi lters is such a critical design element. Without oil, the fi ltration effi ciency of a cotton air fi lter would not meet our high standards. The oil treatment creates our ability to have both high airfl ow and outstanding fi ltration. The amazing thing is that such a small quantity of oil can make such a dramatic difference.
