EFFECTIVE DATE: 20-JULY Various Vehicles - Adaptive Cruise Control Equipped - Unexpected Brief Reduction In Speed Some Fusion/MKZ/Explorer, MKC, 2015 Mustang/Edge, Taurus/MKS/Flex/MKT, and 2016 MKX vehicles equipped with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) may briefly reduce speed unexpectedly and/or activate the forward collision warning indicators while the ACC is engaged. To improve system operation, reprogram the Cruise Control Module (CCM) to the latest calibration using the Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) version or higher. After installing the latest software, perform a Horizontal Alignment calibration following the IDS on-screen instructions. Use causal component 9E731 and applicable labor operations from Section 10 of the SLTS manual for reprogram only. Refer to the Owner's Manualfor system limitations. EFFECTIVE DATE: 26-APRIL Various Vehicles - Heated Steering Wheel Module Inoperative After Module Programming Some Fusion, 2015 F-150, MKZ, MKC, Super Duty, Explorer, Taurus, MKS, MKT and MKX vehicles equipped with a heated steering wheel may exhibit a condition where the heated steering wheel function becomes inoperative and the heated steering wheel module (HSWM) fails an on-demand self-test, but passes the network test. This condition may occur after performing a module programming procedure on some other module. To correct the concern, reprogram thehswm to the latest calibration using IDS release and higher. Calibration files may also be obtained at Use applicable 12651D labor ops from Secton 10 of the SLTS manual and use causal part 14B561 for reprogram. EFFECTIVE DATE: 10-JULY Various Vehicles - Cruise Control Speed Setting Display May Not MatchSpeedometer Some Fusion, Taurus, Explorer, Edge, Flex, Lincoln MKS, MKX and Lincoln MKT, vehicles may exhibit a cruise control speed that does not match the speedometer speed. The Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) provides a tolerance which allows the speedometer gauge to display between 3% lower and 7% higher than the actual vehicle speed. This means that with an actual vehicle speed of 96 kmh (60 mph), the speedometer may indicate between93 kmh (58 mph) and 103 kmh (64 mph), which is normal. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section Description and Operation, Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). If you are outside of this tolerance range, refer to the WSM for normal diagnosis. To clear this DTC, use the Ford Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) service tool or Ford J2534 Diagnostic Software, select - Toolbox - Body -Security - PATS Functions - Parameter Reset. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the procedure. This procedurewill transfer the existing Key ID information between the modules without the need of having 2 programmed PATS keys present. There is no need to program keys when the PCM is going to be replaced. Additional information can be found in the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section Missing or lost keys are not warrantable. EFFECTIVE DATE: 02-NOVEMBER Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) Session File Upload Request When Replacing APowertrain Control Module (PCM) Ford Motor Company engineering uses Integrated Diagnostic System(IDS) session file data provided by Dealer technicians to improve Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PCED) diagnostic routines. Engineering is requesting that Dealer technicians save and upload IDS session file data when performing vehicle diagnosticroutines that lead to PCM replacement in order to continually improve vehicle diagnostics and product quality. Please review the How to Send an IDS Session File Containing Recordings Job Aid on the Professional Technician Society (PTS) under Service Tips for further information on uploading vehicle sessions. This process is quick and easy to perform and will greatly assist engineering in the improvement of current and future diagnostic procedures. Instrument clusters with a Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) are sent to the dealer with PATS configured to factory As Built specifications. Therefore PMI is required to properly configure the vehicle s PCM to the new instrument cluster at time of installation. Failure to perform the PMI programming can result in a no start condition after installation. Refer to Workshop Manual section under General Procedures for proper PMI instructions. EFFECTIVE DATE: 25-FEBRUARY Various Vehicles - Instrument Cluster Lens Or Masks Available For Various Vehicles the Instrument Cluster lens, base part number 10887, or mask, base part number 10890, are now available should the Instrument Cluster plastic lens become discolored, scratched, blurred, cracked, or other cosmetic concerns that do not affect the operation of the Instrument Cluster. Refer to section of the appropriate WSM for Instrument Cluster lens or mask removal and installation procedure. Refer to the Warranty and Policy Manual for appropriate coverage. The selection between standard andenhanced was removed starting in 2014 model year, and all information display trip menus for all levels of clusters are enhanced displays.
