1 Camec Keyless Entry System Installation Instructions

2 Fitment of this Keyless Entry System can be complex. Installation is recommended to be performed by certified RV installers or competent DIY. Damage resulting from incorrect installation will not be covered by warranty. Fitment of Keyless Entry 1. Open the main door and lift up the handle to separate the security door from the main door. 2. Remove current lock from door. a Press safety detent button and slide locking snib down to expose the retaining screw. (refer to illustration A) b. Undo retaining screws and remove main lock. 3. On the Keyless Entry, carefully disconnect the wire between the lock handles and separate the two pieces Page 2

3 4. Fit the outer handle to the outer face of the security door. Note the routing of the cable. 5. Connect the wire from the inner assembly to the outer assembly, through the door. Note: after the wires are connected, move the plug away from the circuit board, into the adjacent cavity. Page 3

4 Ensure cable is routed in channel (as per illustraton) to allow free movement during lock operation. 8. Fit 3 screws to the lock assembly, supplied. Tighten to ~0.9Nm. Caution: Do not overtighten screws. If lock is binding, loosen screw slightly. 6. Install Keyless Entry inner main lock with locking snib down (locked). 7. Use screwdriver to lift drive block and make sure latch gear engages with the rack. (refer to illustration B) Page 4

5 9. Confirm that remote catch pins are in alignment with the main catch pin. 12. Lock assembled onto door. 10. Install the AA batteries. Remove the battery cover from the inner lock housing using a PH0 point screwdriver, to remove fixing screw and lift off cover plate Insert 4x Camec Alkaline AA batteries (supplied) into battery tray as per the markings (confirm battery orientation in the holder). Replace battery cover and fasten the screw Once batteries are installed, the button located on the outer handle will flash green once every 5 seconds to indicate battery mode. If batteries are low, external button will flash red 2 times every 5 seconds. 11 Test operation of lock on door. a. Close door into caravan b. Present the programmed fob to the outer lock handle. c. Outer lock handle should retract and lock the door d. Present the programmed fob to the outer lock handle e. Outer handle should extend, unlocking the door. f. Green LED in external button should flash intermittently when Keyless Entry is running on self contained batteries. g. Open the door. Ensure outer handle retracts fully for correct operation (locking). Page 5

6 Fitment of Powered Striker The powered striker plate may be connected to the caravan main 12V battery supply. It will provide 12V to the Keyless Entry unit when the door is closed. Fitment of the powered striker is only if 12V supply from the caravan s batteries is required. The Keyless Entry unit will operate without this power connection, provided 4x AA batteries are fitted into the lock. 2. Aligned with the marking above, drill a 13mmØ hole through the trim frame into the caravan wall, as per below. Be sure to confirm the hole will not interrupt any major structural or electrical elements in the wall prior to drilling. Consult your dealer or caravan manufacturer for further information. 1. With door in the near closed position, mark the centre of the powered striker pins on the trim frame. 3. Connect the powered striker wires to the caravan 12V battery supply. RED wire = +12V, BLACK wire = 0V. Connections to caravan battery supply will vary with caravan model. Please consult caravan manufacturer or approved fitter for advice, if required. Page 6

7 4. Feed wires and fuse holder through the 13mmØ hole into the trim frame. 5. Fit the supplied grommet into the 13mmØ hole in the trim frame Page 7

8 6. Align the powered striker centrally over the grommet on the trim frame, and drill a 2.5mmØ hole through the mounting point provided. 7. Repeat on inner face of the powered striker, being sure to press the striker against the trim frame. Page 8

9 8. Fasten powered striker to trim frame with metal screws. Page 9

10 9. Confirm operation of the Keyless Entry. a. Close door into caravan b. Present the programmed fob to the outer lock handle. c. Outer lock handle should retract and lock the door d. Present the programmed fob to the outer lock handle e. Outer handle should extend, unlocking the door. f. Green LED in external button should flash intermittently when Keyless Entry is running on self contained batteries. g. Open the door. the lock is connected to caravan s 12V supply. 10. Green light in the external button should be permanently illuminated green when Page 10

If the lock is tampered with, disassembled, or altered in any way, the warranty will be void. Parts damaged due to incorrect installation will also be void of warranty.
