2 Infinitely Recyclable Tin Packaging Round Tins Solid tins are available in all colors and sizes shown, except *504 x 113 and *808 drawn. Decorative tins are rarely thrown away and are frequently recycled; reused or kept as a collectible. Steel can be recycled indefinitely, without loss of quality. Quick Facts About Steel Packaging: Recycling steel uses 60% less energy than making new steel Every can that you buy contains at least 25% recycled steel, and up to 60% depending on the process Steel can be easily separated from other waste with a magnet There are more than 2,000 scrap steel processors in the US Every 2,000 lbs. of recycled steel saves 2,500 lbs. of iron ore, 1,400 lbs. of coal and 120 lbs. of limestone Each year, more steel is recycled than glass, paper, aluminum and plastic combined Quick Facts About Other Packaging: Reduce Reuse Recycle The plastic containers (#1 and #2) that are collected can only be recycled into secondary products (such as textiles, parking lot bumpers or plastic lumber) Once secondary products are used, the plastic containers cannot be recycled further The growth of new plastic continues to outpace the growth of plastic product recycling by a factor of 14 to 1 Composite cans made out of recycled paperboard, cannot be accepted by most recycling centers due to the fact that the metal end cannot be separated from the paperboard body Less than 15% of recycling centers confirm that they accept composite cans Due to the limited life cycle, all composite cans are temporarily diverted from the landfill Paper bags lined with plastic cannot be composted or recycled Polypropylene bags with an aluminum outer layer are not recyclable Long before environmentalism was in vogue, we took initiatives and implemented programs to reduce waste, save energy, and eliminate pollutants.
