14 9.6 Transmitter installation NICE device includes a Lithium battery To replace battery, in case of expiration (Figure 6), remove the front cover, by unscrewing the two retaining screws Insert the battery in the specified location, matching the polarity + (Figure 6A) Incorrect insertion of the battery could cause irreparable damage to the device. Before affixing the Transmitter to the vehicle s windshield: Carefully clean the windshield accurately in the pre-selected location (See Fig.8) The optimal location for installation of the NICE device is near the central rear view mirror, so the indicator light is visible and any adjustment can be easily carried out by the driver (Fig. 8). The Dual Lock applicator for the windshield is already inserted (fig 7). Remove its protective film. For application on the apparatus glass, rotate the Transmitter vertically, as in Figure 8, ensuring sufficient attachment of the adhesives by using adequate pressure. Wait at least 5 minutes before attempting to finalize position of transmitter. 16 9.7 Transmitter activation (by Light Sensor) Following manual activation (page 6 point 7) The NICE transmitter is automatically activated in presence of darkness less than 5-10 Lux. Its operation is signalled by the blue LED tell tale when the Transmitter is hit by light from outside the vehicle. The operation of the system is guaranteed by correct orientation of the Transmitter that incorporates a sophisticated optical system of for light detection. 9.8 Transmitter orientation Operation to verify proper orientation of NICE system must be performed: a) In presence of darkness b) On an open straight road, on a level for at least 50 m, without traffic being present, or in an empty parking area. c) In absence of street lighting d) After making sure that the system has been activated. Reference Page. 6 paragraph 7 Manual Activation /Override of the NICE System. Turn the engine and select High Beam, check that the transmitter is in activated (Blue flashing LED). Put the headlight onto Low Beam, in case of continual flashing of the blue LED, slightly tilting the Transmitter upward until the blue LED goes out (reference Figure 8) At this time select High Beam and check that there is no automatic switch off, also with the blue LED flashing. As required, increase the angle of the Transmitter setting upwards. Pay attention to the adjustment of Transmitter, which if too high will cause the device to have diminished or loss its sensitivity, if too low the device may activated spontaneously and unnecessarily. Once the Transmitter has been adjusted, push vigorously on the Dual Lock adhesive pads to guarantee a permanent stable adhesion.!!! WARNING NEVER PERFORM ANY ADJUSTMENT OR OTHER OPERATION ON YOUR NICE DEVICE WHILE DRIVING. WHEN THE WINDSHIELD OF THE CAR IS HORIZONTALLY CURVED, BE SURE TO INSTALL THE TRANSMITTER EXACTLY AT THE CENTER SO AS NOT TO COMPRO- MISE PROPER OPERATION 16/18 User Handbook
