2 Scope: Installation instructions for Purolator Hose Modification Kit P/N: This hose modification kit is intended to replace the engine lube oil inlet and outlet hoses (P/N: ) originally supplied as part of Purolator External Oil Filter Kit P/N: installed on Eurocopter AS350 B, AS350 B1, AS350 B2, AS350 B3*, AS350 BA, EC130B4 and EC130T2.. * Purolator Hose Modification Kit P/N: is not applicable to AS350 B3 aircraft equipped with dual hydraulic system. General: This installation can best be accomplished at a time when the craft is in for service. It is recommended that the installer read through the instructions and review Figure A before starting to ensure that there will be no problems with completing this installation. 3 Preparation: This hose modification kit is designed for installation on Eurocopter Helicopter Corp. Models AS350 B, AS350 B1, AS350 B2, AS350 B3*, AS350 BA, EC130B4 & EC130T2 equipped with Purolator external oil filter kit P/N: installed in accordance with STC SH2676SO. * Purolator Hose Modification Kit P/N: is not applicable to AS350 B3 aircraft equipped with dual hydraulic system. A. Disconnect battery. B. Remove the cowling as required to work in the right-hand transmission area of the aircraft. C. Drain engine oil system. Installation: 1. Filter Inlet Hose: a. In right-hand transmission section, remove the existing filter inlet hose (P/N: ), associated hose end covers, and hose clamps connected to the filter inlet fitting and existing engine oil outlet hose fitting. b. Remove Fitting P/N: and O-Ring P/N: originally installed in the filter inlet port. For models equipped with a Eurocopter provided threaded engine oil outlet hose: c1. Remove Fitting P/N: originally installed in the Eurocopter provided engine oil outlet hose. d1. Install Fitting P/N: in the Eurocopter provided engine oil outlet hose. For models equipped with a Eurocopter provided push-on engine oil outlet hose: c2. Remove Fitting P/N: originally installed in the Eurocopter provided engine oil outlet hose. Retain existing hose clamps and hose end cover on Eurocopter provided engine oil outlet hose. E-1106 Page 3

4 d2. Install Fitting P/N: in the Eurocopter provided engine oil outlet hose using existing hose clamps and hose end cover. e. Install O-Ring P/N: , lubricated with engine oil, onto the larger threaded end of Fitting P/N: and install in filter inlet port. f. Connect Hose P/N: to the fittings installed in the filter inlet port (P/N: ) and engine oil outlet hose (P/N: or P/N ). 2. Filter Outlet Hose: a. In right-hand transmission section, remove the existing filter outlet hose (P/N: ), associated hose end covers, and hose clamps connected to the filter outlet fitting and thermal bypass valve inlet fitting. b. Remove Fitting P/N: and O-Ring P/N originally installed in the filter outlet port. c. Remove Union P/N: and Seal P/N: originally installed in the Eurocopter provided thermal bypass valve inlet port. This may best be accomplished if the thermal valve is loosened from the deck for better access. d. Install Seal P/N: , lubricated with engine lube oil, onto larger threaded end of Fitting P/N: and install in thermal bypass valve inlet port. Re-secure the thermal valve inlet fitting with lockwire to adjacent fitting in valve. Re-secure thermal valve to deck if previously removed. e. Install O-Ring P/N: , lubricated with engine lube oil, onto the larger threaded end of Fitting P/N: and install in filter outlet port. f. Connect Hose P/N: , by attaching the 90 elbow end to the filter outlet port fitting (P/N: ) and the straight end to the thermal bypass valve inlet port fitting (P/N: ). 3. Utilizing best practice, secure filter outlet hose (P/N: ) to Eurocopter provided engine outlet hose using provided Spacers P/N: and Tie Wraps P/N: E-1106 Page 4

5 Preparation for Run-up: 1. It is recommended that the filter element (P/N: ) and bowl o-ring (P/N: ) be replaced at this time. 2. Service engine oil system with oil. VERIFY FILTER INLET PORT, OUTLET PORT, AND HOSES ARE CONNECTED TO PROVIDE PROPER OIL FLOW. Check for leaks. 3. Inspect the transmission compartment for cleanliness, foreign materials, tools, etc. 4. Install cowling. 5. Connect battery 6. Run engine and inspect for leaks. 7. Check security of the oil filter system. 8. Enter data into the aircraft log book. Weight Change: Negligible (<1 lb.)
