Available in five wet boom clamp sizes: ", 4", ", 0mm, and 5mm to easily fit the most common pipe sizes. The Hypro ProFlo nozzle body offers three choices of turret styles: Single, -Way and 5-Way. The -Way and 5-Way turrets hold a variety of spray tips to easily adapt to various spraying applications and needs. A quick twist puts another spray tip in place and you are ready to work in no time. The single drop style is an ideal value forconsistent spraying applications. ProFlo nozzle bodies come standard with a.55 bar (8 PSI) diaphragm check valve. 8 Filtration General Principles Grit, soil or undispersed chemicals can readily block nozzles which in turn will lead to uneven chemical application and excessive wear on pumps and valves. To avoid this, filtration should be applied in stages, starting with the most coarse mesh and moving to finer sizes towards the nozzle. STAGE SOURCE TO TANK STAGE TANK TO PUMP STAGE PUMP TO NOZZLES Floating Filter Coarse filtration is provided by foot floating filter or basket filter during tank filling. Where an induction hopper is used or water is taken from a bowser a suction hose filter can be used. Coarse/medium filtration is provided by suction filters which protect the pump. These also provide preliminary screening before the finer pressure filters. Medium filtration is provided by large pressure line filters fitted between the pump and the pressure regulator or small line filters between each boom section. The finest filtration is provided by nozzle filters. Maintenance and Care Regular cleaning of filters is essential. Simply soak in water and clean with a soft brush - replace any that are blocked or damaged immediately. Ensure that the inlet and outlet port sizes of the filter are the same as the internal diameter of your hose. NB Check that hosetails do not restrict flow. Check that your filter has adequate flow capacity i.e. Large pressure line filters and Suction filters must be able to cope with the full flow of the pump. Small Pressure Line filters must be able to supply the largest nozzles fitted to each boom section.

25 Orion Electromagnetic Flow Meter Electromagnetic flow meters measure the volume flow of electrically conductive liquids. The liquid passes through a magnetic field and the voltage created is picked up by two electrodes. The voltage is directly proportional to the mean flow velocity and therefore the faster the flow, the greater the voltage signal. The signal is amplified and concentrated into a frequency pulse (e.g. for the version, 00 pulses for every litre passing through the meter). No impellers or other moving parts means no clogging and longer life. Performance less sensitive to fluid density or viscosity means no re-programming and greater accuracy. Will not measure air in the liquid meaning greater accuracy. Flow tolerance of ±0.5% e.g. only a litre error on a 600 litre fill. Maximum power consumption of only 00mA during continous use. The simple effective constant application valve The FlowMaster valve offers a simple, effective method of maintaining constant application rates, Inlet from Pump Outlet Boom Supply Lines Outlet Return to Tank when working in any one gear. FlowMaster also automatically maintains constant spraying pressure regardless of individual boom sections being closed and opened. FlowMaster takes pressurised liquid from the pump and accurately proportions the flow of liquid between the boom supply lines and return to tank. In doing so the liquid application rate is controlled in proportion to forward speed, working in any one gear. With piston or diaphragm (positive) displacement pumps The application rate will remain within ± 5% of the desired rate when speeds vary by ± km/h from the target speed. When using FlowMaster and operating at a forward speed of 8 km/h, you can work from 6 to 0 km/h and apply chemical within an accuracy of ± 5%. The following hints should help to keep yours operating efficiently.. Protect from frost. If water is allowed to freeze in the sprayer lines, it will damage the lines and probably ruin the pressure gauge.. Avoid excessive pressure surge: When the main on/off valve is closed, many sprayer systems divert the total liquid flow through the pressure regulating valve back to the tank. This causes a degree of pressure surge - depending on the size of your pump and the capacity of your pressure regulator, if your pressure gauge needle goes round and off the scale, it will almost certainly strain the bordon tube and the needle will not return to zero.. If the needle does not return to zero at zero pressure, the pressure gauge should be replaced. 4. Always use a gauge with adequate pressure range, and a pressure regulating valve with ample capacity. 5. Larger gauges are preferable as they are easier to read. 6. Glycerine filled pressure gauges are definitely advantageous. The glycerine provides some internal protection and dampens the needle against pulsations from piston or diaphragm pumps. 7. For liquid fertiliser application, a gauge completely manufactured from stainless steel is ideal. 5

PVC hose also loses some of its flexibility in cold weather and becomes brittle with age. Reinforced rubber hose is generally a superior product, rated to 75 psi. 44 Pumps Selecting Your Pump The pump is the heart of your sprayer and provided the simple operating and maintenance requirements are met, it should give long and trouble free service. Piston diaphragm pumps are now fitted to the majority of European sprayers because of their durability, excellent performance and ease of service. Hypro are authorised main stockists of the complete range of high quality AR piston diaphragm pumps. Hypro also offer a comprehensive range of piston and roller vane pumps. Whatever the sprayer, whatever the duty, Hypro can help you make the right choice of sprayer pump. Hypro also hold large stocks of service parts for most other commonly used sprayer pumps. When pumping liquids of different specific gravity, the flows should be multiplied by one of the following conversion factors shown on the right. Drive Type Specific Gravity Conversion Factor ( SG) Typical Application and Comments Getting The Best from Your Pump Preparation Pumps Visually check the pump for signs of wear or leaks. If possible, manually rotate the shaft to ensure free movement. Suction lines must be secure and free of air leaks. Sucking air into the system can impair efficiency and cause chemical to foam. Ensure that the suction filter element is clean. With at least one boom section open, run the pump for one or two minutes at zero pressure to evacuate all air. Never exceed recommended PTO speed. Ensure all pipework is of adequate bore size, especially the suction side, check also for restrictions. Maintainance Diaphragm Pumps Clean the pump after use by running clean water through for a few minutes. Finish with the suction line out of the water to empty the pump. Check oil level and if necessary top up with a good 0W/0 oil. If oil changes colour, or disappears completely, refer to Problem Solving section. Change oil every 00 hours, or at the end of the season, whichever is soonest. To drain, remove oil drain plug, normally located at base the pump body. Rotate the shaft by hand until oil stops flowing. Slowly with a good 0W/0 oil, rotating the shaft by hand at the same time, the level is halfway up the reservoir. Replace all diaphragms, and O Ring the end of each season (see Winter Overhaul Kits). Completely drain pump for winter storage - especially the manifolds. Protect from frost. Roller Vane Pumps Always flush pump thoroughly with lubricating oil after use. Test the pump at the end of each season by running it at 50 psi pressure with your largest nozzles - to ensure the flow is sufficient for the maximum sprayer application required. Examine condition of rollers through the pump ports. If reduced in size, or worn to a conical configuration, pump should be reconditioned or replaced. To recondition the pump, replace all rollers and seals. Take great care in correctly locating seals on reassembly. If shaft is badly worn, it should be replaced. This can be difficult, and purchase of a new pump should be considered. If the inside of the pump body is worn or corroded, a new Hypro Roller Vane or Diaphragm pump should be purchased. It is not normally possible to satisfactorily recondition a Roller Vane Pump more than once (see Overhaul Kits). NB. Don t forget to check the bearings too.
