2 Dear Customer, Since 1985, Agri-Products, Inc. has developed and improved our designs and accessories required for handling grain, seed, fertilizer, aggregate, and food products. All of these products have different requirements in design and material. The process for creating exceptional bulk handling equipment can be manufactured using mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and galvanized steel. Sawing is executed with a CNC controlled saw and provides accuracy on every cut. Sheet and plate fabrication is accomplished using a HyperTherm CNC Plasma cutting table and shear. When shearing and plasma operations are completed, bending and shaping are mastered by using a CNC press brake that assures accuracy for correct assembly. Our press brake is also capable of forming a ¾ thick plate. Coating the finished products can be done in standard industrial paint or powder coating, as well as, Hot Dip galvanizing. We acquired a new paint booth with controlled air movement and the use of electrostatic paint assures proper paint coverage for your product. (Various colors are available on request.) 10 NEW FROM Bin Flow Control REMOTE PUSH BUTTON CONTROL FOR MOTORIZED GATES This control will give you an efficient and safe way to load trailers from your grain storage bins. No more climbing ladders to manually open and close the side bin draw off spouts. Minimize the chance of overloading and overflowing grain trailers. Observing and controlling the flow of grain with the ability to control volume and stop with the push of a button makes the job safer and easier. The Bin Flow Control System can be used with either 110V or 220V 3 phase or single phase current, 480V 3 phase. The motor on the gate needs to be 3 phase, no larger than 1/2 horsepower. A manual speed control dial within the control panel allows for adjustment of gate speed. The push button remote control has an operating distance of 250 feet. The control box is weather proof as is the remote station. Installation is simple: 1.) Bring power source to the control panel 2.) From control panel to the motor and limit switches 3.) Then to the remote station and you are ready to go! Wiring must be completed by a qualified electrician. 14 Materials Available for Lining chutes, spouts and the transitions Lining chutes, spouts and transitions prolongs the life of a part and cuts down the maintenance costs. Different materials are available and each has an advantage depending upon the application. In many cases fabricating the part from thicker steel is the first consideration to prolong the life. AR STEEL: This comes in various thicknesses and weights and can normally be welded into place, making installation rather simple. Due to its high carbon content, it is hard to shape or form to fit transitions and other odd shaped parts. It should be noted when the part is worn and needs to be replaced, it will require welding and grinding. In most cases, this can be somewhat dangerous due to the sparks generated and the explosive atmosphere of most installations. In some cases, the steel parts can be bolted in place which makes replacement easier and less dangerous. UHMW - ULTRA HIGH MOLECULAR WEIGHT PLASTIC: This material comes in various thicknesses and has to be bolted into place. The material can be sheared or sawed to size. Since it s a high molecular weight plastic, it can easily be shaped to the material needing lined. This material is affected by temperature change and will expand and contract. With this physical property, the material needs to be bolted in place securely, normally on a 6 square grid using a flat headed cup bolt. If it is not properly bolted in place, the material has a tendency to ripple which can interrupt the material flow as well as cause excessive wear. CERAMIC TILE: API uses 1 /4 x 4 x 6 tile. Other thicknesses and sizes are available upon request. A 1 /4 x 6 x 6 hex tile mat is also available. The hex tiles are used for odd shaped pieces. Normally, installation will require a water-cooled tile saw. The tiles are cut to the proper size. Silicone can be used to place the tiles on the area to be lined. There are also tiles with a center hole. This type of tile can be bolted in place which makes replacement easier. When planning to line a spout, the size should be considered so that cutting tiles to a certain dimension is kept to a minimum to keep additional labor costs down. Lining is time consuming, but the wear factor is longer. EXPANDED METAL BACK URETHANE: This lining comes in various thicknesses and sheet sizes. Shearing or sawing to size allows for the material to be bolted in place. Using a flat headed cup bolt, which is drawn into the material, makes a smoother surface for material flow. Bolting the material makes replacement easier and faster. Normally the bolts are put on 12 centers. Some of the urethane sheets also are applied with ceramic chips which prolongs the use of the lining. Remember... Some of the material can cause static electricity build up. 16 ROLLER GATE SYSTEM FOR BIN UNLOADING Agri-Products, Inc. designed the roller gate system to be used under drying floors in bins. The system allows for a number of dumps into a reclaim auger. The rack and pinion control assures a positive opening or closing of the rollers gates. The roller gate frame is fabricated from 11ga mild steel material and the roller gate from 7ga mild steel. The gate rolls over 1 1 / 8 diameter steel rollers with bearings mounted on a 3 / 8 bolt. Rollers are on 3 centers for proper gate support. Openings in the gate that are not used are plugged to minimize grain spillage. Pipe supports are recommended to prevent control pipe sag or bending when used to open or close the gate. Gates are available in many different sizes. Special sizes can be designed to fit various requirements. 17 ROLLER GATE FOR BIN UNLOADING SYSTEMS Agri-Products, Inc. roller gate systems are composed of roller gates to fit under each floor opening, rack & pinion controller stands and pull rod (pipe) controller stands. Gate frames are made of 11ga mild steel and the gate is made of 7ga. The gate rolls on 1-1 /8 mounted steel rollers with internal bearings. Gates are designed to work with 3 /4 schedule 40 pipe. Each gate can be controlled with an individual pipe or in many cases more than one gate is controlled with one pull pipe. When all openings in the gates are not used, the unused holes are plugged to minimize grain spillage. Standard sizes start at a 10 square and are available up to 24 square. Other sizes are available and can be quoted to specifications. Size of unloading conveyor should be considered when determining the size of the gates.
