Installation Warning! 1.1 Mounting Switch-off power supply before opening the housing. operation control lamp cover housing combined LCD key field clamps base The unit must only be located internally. It is not suitable for installation in hazardous locations and should not be sited near to any electromagnetic field. The controller must additionally be equipped with an all-polar gap of at least 3 mm or with a gap according to the valid installaton regulations, e.g. LS-switches or fuses. Please pay attention to a separate laying of the cable lines and installation of ac power supply. 1. Unscrew the cross-recessed screw of the cover and remove it from the housing. 2. Mark the upper fastening point on the underground and premount the enclosed dowel and screw. 3. Hang up the housing at the upper fastening point and mark the lower fastening point on the underground (hole pitch 130 mm), afterwards put the lower dowel. 4. Fasten the housing at the underground. cable conduits with strain relief 1.2 Electrical wiring sensor clamps protector consumer clamps net clamps The power supply to the controller must only be made by an external power supply switch (last step of installation!) and the line voltage must be Volt ( Hz). Flexible lines are to be fixed at the housing by enclosed strain relief supports and screws. The controller is equipped with 2 standard relays, to which the consumers e.g. pumps, valves etc. can be connected: Relay 1 18 = conductor R1 17 = neutral conductor N 13 = ground clamp Relay 2 16 = conductor R2 15 = neutral conductor N 14 = ground clamp The temperature sensors (S1 up to S4) will be connected to the following terminals independently of the polarity: 1 / 2 = Sensor 1 (e.g. Sensor collector 1) 3 / 4 = Sensor 2 (e.g. Sensor store 1) 5 / 6 = Sensor 3 (e.g. Sensor collector 2) 7 / 8 = Sensor 4 (e.g. Sensor store 2) The power supply is effected to the clamps: 19 = neutral conductor N 20 = conductor L 12 = ground clamp

6 Page 6/24 2. Sensor types Precision-platin sensors type PT1000 (FKP and FRP) are used for DeltaS eltasol B Pro. The arrangement of the sensors is of great importance to the total efficiency of the regulator. The collector temperature should be measured in the upper part of the collector. In stores with integral heat exchanger, the sensor must be directly mounted in the upper part of the heat exchanger. When using external heat exchangers, the sensor must be fixed at the bottom of the store. For individual operation systems, our product range contains 3 different types of sensors (sensors for installation in existing immersion sleeves, flatscrew sensors or cylindrical clip-on sensors). The sensor types FK and FR have the same electrical features and are available in the same models, They only differ in the connecting cable: FK: 1,5 m weather- and temperature resistant silicone cable for temperatures between -50 C C, mostly used for collectors. FR: 2,5 m PVC cable for tempertures between -5 C C, mostly used for stores. Make sure that all electrical works are carried out according to the relevant local and IEE-regulations. The sensor cables carry low voltages and they must not run together in a cable conduit with cables carrying higher voltages than 50 Volts. When using longer cables or cable conduits, please use screened cables. The sensor cables can be lengthened up to 100 m, but the cross section must be 1,5 mm² (or 0,75 mm² up to a cable length of 50m); screened cables should be used preferably. The sensors must not be in direct contact with water, please always use immersion sleeves. Immersion sensors: in different lengths (immersion depth) available FK...60: 60 mm immersion depth, immersion sleeves of chromium-plated brass FK...150: 150 mm immersion depth, immersion sleeve of chromium-plated copper Important: The sensors must be completely pushed into the sleeve and the nut must be slightly tightenend. Cylindrical clip-on sensors: for any pipe diameter; cpl. with fastening collar; FK...21 or FR...21 Ensure good thermal contact of the sensor with the pipe work by cleaning the contact area and by applying heat conduction paste between sensor and pipe. In order to protect the sensor cable against outside temperature influences, it is recommended to insulate the pipe. FK... : collector sensor FR... : reference sensor (store sensor) Flatscrew sensors: for installation on flat surfaces FK...9 or FR...9 Ensure good thermal contact. Use conduction paste and insulate the sensors against outside temperature influences. Indication: In order to avoid overvoltage damage at the collector (e.g. by lightening), it is highly recommendend to use the overvoltage protection RESOL SP1.

The forward-key (1) is used for scrolling forward through the indication menu or to increase the adjustment values. The backwards-key (2) is accordingly used for the reverse function. backwards forwards The adjustment channels follow the pure indication channels in the display. In order to come to these channels, press the forward key to channel H1 or H2 for 2 sec. If an adjustment value is shown on the display, SEt is indicated. In this case you can press the key Set (3) in order to change into input mode. set (selection / adjustment mode) Select a channel by keys 1 and 2 Shortly press key 3, so that SEt flashes Adjust the value by keys 1 and 2 Shortly press key 3, so that SEt permanently appears, the adjusted value is now saved 3.2 Controller parameter / indication channnels S1 = Sensor 1 S2 = Sensor 2 S3 = Sensor 3 TT if FN 4 is activated TT = Temperature Thermostat S4 = Sensor 4 H1 = Hours of Oparation Relay 1 H2 = Hours of Oparation Relay 2 FN = FuNction 1 : 2 separated T-circuits 2 : 2 stores, 1 collector / 2 stores 3 : East/West system, 2 collectors / 1 store 4 : 1 store with thermostat function 1 collector / 1 store with thermostat function DO 1 = TemperatureDifference On Relay 1 DF 1 = TemperaturDifference OfF Relais 1 SX 1 = StorageTemperatur MaXimum Relay 1 CL 1 = CollectorTemperature Limited Relay 1 CX 1 = CollectorTemperature MaXimum Relay 1 CN 1 = CollectorTemperature MiNimum OC 1 = Option Cooling Relay 1 system cooling on/off circuit 1 DO 2 = TemperatureDifference On Relay 2 DF 2 = TemperaturDifference OfF Relay 2 SX 2 = StorageTemperatur MaXimum Relay 2 CL 2 = CollectorTemperature Limited Relay 2 CX 2 = CollectorTemperature MaXimum Relay 2 CN 2 = CollectorTemperature MiNimum Relay 2 OC 2 = Option Cooling Relay 2 system cooling on/off circuit 2 PR = Priority TS = Time Stop Oscillating stop TR = Time Run Oscillating pause TO = ThermostatTemperature On TF = ThermostatTemperature OfF MM = Mode Manual 0 : Relay 1 and 2 aus 1 : Relay 1 on, Relais 2 off 2 : Relay 1 off, Relais 2 on 3 : Relay 1 and 2 on 4 : automatic regulation PG = ProGram Program number VN=Version Number Version number Please note: The controller is equipped with a security switch-off of the store, which prevents a further loading of the store at 95 C store temperature.

8 Page 8/ Indication channels S1-S4 The indication channels S1-S4 indicate the current temperatures of the sensors S1-S4 in C. If the thermostat function is activated (FN=4), the channel TT (thermostat temperature) is indicated Indication channels H1 and H2 The indication channels H1 and H2 (if FN1 or FN3 are activated) indicate the solar operating hours of the solar pump or the solar operating hours of the consumer connected to the relays R1 and R2. The operating hours sum is stored every 6 hours, so in case of a power blackout the maximum difference would be 6 hours. This indication value can not be reset Function FN FN=1: 2 separate T-circuits For regulation of 2 independent differential-circuits with separated adjustments. FN=2: 2 stores 1 collector / 2 stores For regulation of a system with 1 collector and 2 stores by means of a 3-way-valve. The stores are charged according to the priority logic (oscillating charge). FN=3: East/west 2 collectors / 1 store For regulation of a system with east/west collectors and one store my means of 2 pumps. FN=4: 1 store and thermostat function 1 collector / 1 store with thermostat function For realization of a thermostat function e.g. for using of surplus energy or after heating function. FN=5: 2 stores 1 collector / 1 store pump logic For regulation of a system with 2 stores and 1 collector. The stores are charged by means of 2 pumps and priority logic (PR).

9 Page 9/ T-regulation (DO 1/DO 2, DF 1/DF 2) The controller controls the temperatures measured by four sensors S1, S2, S3 and S4 and compares the resulting DO:urn-on temperature temperature difference with the preadjusted switch-ontemperature difference Ton (DO). The controller switches difference adjustable values 1, K ON, if the measured temperature difference DT is higher factory setting 6.0 than or identical to the preadjusted set value in channel DO. In the display is shown and the operating control lamp DF:Turn-off temperature difference adjustable values ,5 K factory setting 4.0 K flashes green. If the adjusted switch-off-temperaturedifference Toff (DF) is underrun, the controller switches- OFF. The factory setting for switch-on temperature difference is 6 K and the switch-off temperature difference is set to 4 K. Please note: Switch-on temperature difference DO must be at least 1 K higher than the switch-off temperature difference DF Maximum store temperature (SX 1/SX 2) If the adjusted maximum temperature is exceeded, a further loading of the store is stopped so that a damaging overheating can be avoided. If the maximum store temperature is exceeded, in the display is shown and (flashing), the operating control lamp flashes red. SX 1: Maximum store temperature circuit 1 SX 2: Maximum store temperature circuit 2 adjustable values C factory setting 60 C

10 Page 10/ Limit collector temperature (CL 1/CL 2) If the adjusted collector temperature limit (CL1/2) is exceeded the solar pump (R1/R2) is deactivated in order to avoid a damaging overheating of the solar components (collector safety shutdown). The limit temperature is set to 140 C by RESOL but it can be changed within the adjustment range of C. In the display is shown CL:Collector limiting and if the maximum collector temperature is temperature exceeded, the operating control lamp flashes red. Adjustable values C, Factory setting 140 C Maximum collector temperature (CX 1/CX 2) CX:Maximum collector temperature adjustable values C Facory setting 120 C If the collector temperature exceeds the adjusted maximum collector temperature (CX1/2) in standstill of the solar circuit (maximum store temperature is reached), the solar pump (R1/R2) switches-on and cools the collectors by heat transfer via lines and the store (collector cooling function). The store temperature might increase, but only up to 95 C (safety shutdown of the store). This function guarantees a longer operating time for very hot summer days and ensures a thermal relief for the collectors and the heating medium. The maximum collector temperature is set to 120 C by RESOL, but it can be changed within the adjustment range of 100 C C. In the display is shown, and if the maximum collector temperature is exceeded, the operating control lamp flashes green Minimum collector temperature (CN 1/CN 2) CN : Minimum collector temperature adjustable values C Factory setting 10 C The minimum collector temperature is a minimum switching temperature, which must be exceeded so that the solar pump (R1/R2) is switched-on. The minimum temperature shall avoid a steady starting-up of the solar pump (or solid fuel boiler charging pumps) for low collector temperatures.the minimum temperature is set to 10 C by RESOL (= deactivated). In the display is shown and if the minimum collector temperature is exceeded, the operating control lamp flashes green. This function analogly is also usable as minimum temperature limitation for solid fuel boilers, recommended adjustment value: 60 C. Please note: The minimum collector temperature is used for adjustment of the frost protection function between -10,0... 9,9 C for minimum temperature function between 10, C.

11 Page 11/ System cooling (OC 1/OC 2) If the adjusted maximum store temperature is exceeded, the solar system switches off. If the collector temperature again increases and the adjusted maximum collector temperature (CX1/2) is reached, the solar pump is running until the limit temperature is again underrun. In doing so, the store temperature can increase (subordinated active store safety shutdown), but only up to 95 C (safety shutdown of the store). If the store temperature is higher than the maximum store temperature (SX1/2) and the collector temperature is at least 5K lower than the store temperature, the solar For deactivating the system cooling adjust the values of OC1 and OC2 to 0. system is working until the store is recooled by the collector and the pipes to the adjusted maximun store temperature (Sx1/2) Oscillating charrge (PR, TS, TR, system 2+5, FN 2 or 5) Affiliated adjustment values: Factory setting Adjustable values Priority [PR] Oscillating break time [TS] 2 min min. Oscillating charge time [TR] 15 min min. The DeltaSol B Pro priority logic: Priority: The DeltaSolB Pro priority logic: The above-mentioned options and parameters are only applied for multiple store systems (system FN=2). If prioroty 0 is adjusted, the stores which show a temperature difference to the collector, are loaded in numerical order (store 1 or store 2). In general, at that time only one store is loaded. For parallel charging you need the adjustment FN=5. If priority 1 / 2 is adjusted, a priority charge of the selected store is effected until its switch-on conditions are fulfilled. The lower-ranking store is loaded by the oscillating charge. If the priority store has reached its adjusted maximum store temperature, the lower-ranking store is loaded until its switch-on conditions are reached. Oscillating break time / oscillating charge time / collector rising temperature: The controller checks the stores regarding loading facilities (switch-on difference). If the priority store cannot be loaded, the lower-ranking store is checked. If the lower-ranking tore can be charged, this is effected by the so-called oscillating charge time (TR). After termination of the oscillating charge time (TR), the loading is stopped. The controller controls the increase in collector temperature. If it increases by the collector rising temperature ( T-col 2K, fixed software value), the expired break time is again reset to zero and the oscillating break time starts again. If the switch-on condition of the priority store is not reached, the loading of the lowerranking store is continued. If the priority switch has reached its maximum temperature, the oscillating charge is not effected.

12 Page 12/ Thermostat function (TO, TF) (System 4, FN=4) After heating use of surplus energy The thermostat function works independently from the solar operation and can e.g. be used for use of surplus energy or after-heating. Factory settings: TO = 40 C, TF = 45 C TO = TF the thermostat function is deactivated, in this case relay output R2 is activated if the maximum store temperature is exceeded TO < TF the thermostat function is used for after-heating TO > TF the thermostat function is used as use of surplus energy If the 2nd relay output is activated, in the display is shown Operation mode (MM) MM R1 R2 0 off off 1 on off 2 off on 3 on on 4 auto auto The operating mode of the controller can manually be set for control- and service works. After having finished the initialisation, the controller is in automatic operation, which is the most effective one for most of the systems with the indicated factory settings. If individual conditions require an adaptation of the parameter, please adjust the values accordingly (see 3.2). 5. Tips for fault location: Please check the following points if the controller can fuse T4A RESOL DeltaS eltasol B Pro does not work faultlessly: 1. Power supply If the operating control lamp is off, please check the power supply of the controller. The controller is protected by one can fuse T4 A, which is situated at the base/isolation plate and can be replaced by opening the cover of the housing (spare fuse is enclosed in one of the accessory bags). 2. Sensor faults If there is a malfunction due to a sensor defect, the operating control lamp flashes red and the symbol is shown on the display. An error code for the concerned sensor is shown on the display (S1,S2, S3/TT or S4). Short-circuit: Short-circuit in the sensor wire with indication of the concerned temperature sensor (S1, S2, S3/TT or S4). The error code is shown on the display. Line break: Interruption of the sensor wire with indication of the concerned temperature sensor (s, S2, S3/TT or S4). The error code is shown on the display for the concerned sensor. Clamped Pt1000-temperature sensors can be checked by a resistance-measuring device. The measured temperatures can be compared with the resistance values of the table opposite. Before opening the housing please make sure that all poles are separated from the line voltage. resitance values of Pt1000 sensors
