1 May Rev. 01 About This Document This document is intended for: Operators of TouchTunes PlayPorTT wireless game and music systems. TouchTunes Field Service, Customer Support, and Sales personnel. It provides information safety information concerning the PlayPorTT Kiosk and installation instructions for the Anti-Tip Cable Kit (p/n ). Safety and Installation Instructions Installation Notes PlayPorTT Kiosk Anti-Tip Safety Cable (p/n ) Important: The PlayPorTT Kiosk weighs approximately 200 lbs. and can injure a person if it tips over and falls onto someone. In order to ensure the personal safety of patrons and protect them from hazards associated with tipping over of the PlayPorTT Kiosk, an anti-tip cable kit is included with your PlayPortt Kiosk. Read and follow these instructions before completing your PlayPorTT Kiosk installation. Heed all warnings. The anti-tip cable: Secures the Kiosk to the wall. Prevents accidental tipping. Installs quickly and easily. Provides a locking easy-release mechanism for moving the Kiosk for cleaning or maintenance. Wall stud Refer installation to qualified service personnel Installation of the mounting system should only be performed by an experienced installer or licensed contractor who is familiar with standard rigging, mounting and hanging practices as recognized by a licensed engineer or government agency in your area. The anti-tip kit ships with mounting fasteners for the Kiosk only. It is the installer s responsibility to choose wall mounting fasteners consistent with local building codes and regulations. 1 of 7

2 Kit Contents Your anti-tip cable kit comprises the following components: Nylon-coated cable (24-in.) Locking cabinet bracket with mounting hardware Wall mounting bracket (Mounting hardware not included) Component Description Quantity Locking cabinet tether bracket assembly 1 Wall tether bracket assembly 1 Nylon-coated cable, 24-in. 1 ¼-20 x 1 ¼ in hex head machine screws 2 ½-40 flange nuts 2 Cabinet warning decal 1 Cabinet bracket drill template 1 Key 1 Note: As the structural considerations of your particular location will determine the type of mounting hardware required, this document provides only general guidelines for preparing for installation, and does not provide detailed instructions for installation of the wall mounting hardware. The following are some guidelines and details specific to installation of the anti-tip cable kit on your PlayPorTT Kiosk. Required Tools and Equipment Electric drill and drill bits. Phillips head screwdriver. Tape measure. Adjustable wrench or 7/8 open-end wrench. Adhesive tape (for securing drill template to cabinet). General Guidelines Before mounting the wall bracket: Choose a location, mounting method, and mounting hardware consistent with local building codes and regulations. 2 of 7

3 Ensure the chosen location has adequate structural integrity to support the Kiosk; the wall bracket must be attached to a solid wood wall stud, or to metal or masonry using the appropriate hardware. Never mount the wall bracket solely into gypsum board (even when drywall anchors are used) or thin wood paneling. Installing the Cabinet Bracket 1. Pull the Kiosk away from the wall and disconnect the AC power and network connection from the cabinet. 2. Unlock and remove the rear door; you will need access to the rear of the upper cross member. 3. Place a mark on the upper rear cabinet cross member 12.5 inches from the outside of the cabinet. 4. Secure the cabinet drill template to the rear of the cabinet. (See following figure for reference.) Template Location Note: Template in figure is for reference only, and may vary from that provided; use the actual template provided with your kit. The top edge of the template should be flush with the bottom side of the top shelf s overhang. The middle of the template should align with the mark at 12.5 inches from the outside of the cabinet 5. Using a 9/32 drill, drill 3 holes through the rear of the cabinet. CAUTION: Be careful to drill only through the rear wall of the cabinet. 3 of 7

4 6. Place the cabinet tether bracket against the rear of the cabinet. Ensure that the slot for the nylon cable is facing up. Cable slot Cabinet Bracket: Cable Slot Orientation 7. Secure the bracket to the cabinet using the hex head machine screws (2pcs) and the flange nuts. Place the flange nuts on the inside of the rear cabinet wall and secure the bracket to the cabinet with the machine screws. 8. Replace and lock the rear door of the Kiosk. The following figure shows the installed cabinet bracket. Cabinet Bracket Installed on Rear of Kiosk Installing the Wall Bracket Secure to the wall using methods and hardware as dictated by local requirements. The bracket should be installed between 46 inches and 52 inches from the floor and approximately centered behind the cabinet. 4 of 7

5 TIP: The lower the position, the closer to the wall the Kiosk must be placed. 52 in. (132 cm.) 46 in. (117 cm.) Measuring for Wall Bracket Note: Appropriate hardware is to be provided by qualified installer. Attaching the Cable 1. Using a Phillips-head screwdriver, remove the bolt, nut, washer and sleeve used to secure the cable to the wall bracket. Sleeve Cable connectors. Note flat and rounded sides. Disassembling Wall Bracket to Connect Cable 2. Slide the cable s connector over the sleeve as shown in the above figure. 5 of 7

6 Note: The cable connectors have a flat side and a rounded side. Ensure that the connectors are positioned with their flat sides facing each other. 3. Insert the sleeve with cables into the center of the wall bracket and reassemble. Reassembling Wall Bracket 4. Maneuver the kiosk to within sufficient proximity (approx. 10 to 12 in.) to the wall to allow the cable to reach the cabinet bracket. 5. Insert the key into the lock and turn 90 degrees clockwise to unlock and disengage the spring-loaded pushpin, and then remove the key. Unlocking the Cabinet Bracket Lock 6. Slide the loop of the nylon-coated cable downward into the cable slot as far as it will go. Note: The cable must be positioned as far down in the slot as possible so that the push pin will clear the cable when locked. 7. Lock the bracket by pushing in on the push pin until the lock engages. 7 Affixing Warning Label When you have completed installation, affix the adhesive warning label to the PlayPorTT Kiosk s cabinet s rear upper cross member.
