3 Foreword This Standard was formulated by referring to the foreign related vehicle-body terminologies and basing on JB Car Body Terminologies, GB/T Terms for Motor Vehicle Body, GB/T Terms for the Bus Body. Both Appendix A and Appendix B of this Standard are informative. Since the implementation date, this Standard replaced JB , GB/T , GB/T This Standard was proposed by State Administration of Machinery Industry. This Standard shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee for Standardization of Automobile. Main Drafting organizations of this Standard: Dongfeng Motor Engineering Research Institute. 4 Terms for Motor Vehicle Body 1 Scope This Standard specifies the terms and definitions of vehicle body. This Standard is applicable to the vehicle body of car, bus and truck. 2 Classification This Standard divides the vehicle body terms into design terms, structure terms, part terms and accessory terms; those that are applicable to car shall be expressed by the Letter A; those that are applicable to the bus shall be expressed by Letter B; while those that are applicable to the truck shall be expressed by Letter C. 3 Design Terms The design terms shall refer to Table 1.
