2 Introduction The valve boxes are elements that provide an ideal protection and easy access to underground equipment like valves, control modules, flowmeters, filters, etc. It can offer protection of physical impacts and weather conditions. It must permit an easy and comfortable access to the inner element in order to operate it or to do its maintenance. 2

3 Advantages and disadvantages It protects the valves, electrovalves, watermeters and every underground element that needs to be manipulated in a future time. It allows an easy access to its interior. Valve boxes, made in high-impact strength polypropylene, offers an excellent mechanical resistance to the hits and to the outdoor weather conditions. Economic and lightweight material. High chemical resistance and corrosion-free. It is very important to be careful in the installation in order to achieve optimal results. 3

9 Installation Insert the valve box body in the ground hole so that allows inside the valve or the element to protect. Assure that the upper part of the body would be aligned with the ground level. Cover with sand the space between the valve box and the ground in order to fix the valve box. At this moment is sure to insert and remove the cover from the body in order to operate the element inside or doing the maintenance. 9

10 Quality EN124 classification Cepex valve boxes are proved and classified according the EN124 regulation. This regulation specify features and necessary forces to support loadings in public zones, from pedestrian crossings to airports, highways, etc. EN 124 A15 Cepex valve boxes are conforming the EN124 regulation, A15 class, for irrigation installations, pedestrian and bicycle crossing Pedestrian 10

Determination of the residual arrow. We have to determine the residual arrow in the centre of the cover after applying 2/3 of the control force, repeating it five times. The residual arrow will be the difference between the first and the last reading. 2. Application of the control force during 30 seconds. The force control for the A 15 class is Kg. 11
