1 Capseal FOR HYDRAULIC AND PNEUMATIC CYLINDERS AND VALVES What is Capseal? Capseal is a combination seal of rubber O-ring and Sunflon ring. This unique seal provides low friction operation and reduce possible stick-slip trouble in same groove as standard O-ring. Capseal applies to reciprocating for both piston and rod seal, besides inside running type for rotary seal. Features Low break out friction Low running friction Long term durability Mostly free from stick-slip Durable for high pressure without backup ring For reciprocating : 20.6MPA For rotary : 4.9MPA Applicable to non lubricating systems (Not applicable in unlubricated condtion) Applies to same groove of conventional O-ring O-ring Sunflon ring 51
2 Cap O-ring What is Cap O-ring? Cap O-ring is formed with a crescent shaped Sunflon (PTFE) ring on the inside diameter surface of rubber as shown in the figure on the left. Cap O-ring has good characteristics for low friction due to their PTFE ring and elasiticity of rubber. Cap O-ring can be easily installed to one-piece housing. If it is used with retainer, it can endure long service life compared to usage of Cap O-ring alone. Retainer is necessary for long service life when used under condition of pressure 2.9MPa and above. Features of Cap O-ring 1. Low friction like rotary Capseal which can avoid stick -slip. 2. Like rubber O-ring, fitting can be done without dividing the groove. 3. Almost no increase in break-out resistance after long pause. 4. Longer seal service life 5. Used for higher speed than Capseal 6. Used for JIS B 2406 dynamic O-ring grooves. 63
3 U-packing and Rod Wiper Foreword Mitsubishi Cable Industries' U-packing and Rod wiper are manufactured from high elastic NBR and are designed in original cross sections. See the following features. Durable in 90 oil temperature for long time. Long life performance. No deformation in long storage and no deterioration by water or moisture such as Urethan rubber. The grooves are simple and small (Applicable to one piece gland). Use Wear-ring is recommended for long reliable service. 95
4 X-ring for Oilless Cylinder DXP series DRP series Foreword Mitsubishi Cable Industries' X-ring and rod packing are applicable for oil-less air cylinder with grease. These seals are manufactured from low-friction, wearresistant NBR and designed in original cross-sections. See the following features. Unlike conventional U-packing, additional reverse side seal is not necessary for alternative pressure. Only one rod-packing (DRP series) is used for both rod-seal and wiper applications. The grooves are simple and small. These one ring type seals allows compact designing and reduce cost. Wear-ring are helpful for long reliable service. 101

Reliable and perfect seal for thread bottom as a result of special three sealing lips. Features Low clamping forces, but zero leakage. Sealing to high pressure. Special groove is not required. Precision finishing is not required. Long reliable service. Re-usable. Fool-proof installation. Easily ascertainment if Fastener seal is put in or not. Little rotation of Fastener Seals at applications is allowable. 117
