INSTALLATION GUIDE Rev.: 24 Page 3 to Installation Procedure Overview Please Note: Failure to proceed in the following order could result in possible vehicle damage. 1 Wiring Make all connections as per wiring schematics either W2W or D2D. 2 Connect 20 pin to module Connect the 20 pin harness to the module. CAUTION! 20 pin connector can be easily plugged in backwards. 3 Remote starter s Jumpers setting in D2D mode 4 Connect the remote starter to the vehicle. Jumpers Connect the system to the vehicle according to instructions. Make sure both jumpers on Responder are in the horizontal position to Operate. 5 If connected in W2W Powerup the CANMAX 6 Module programming (See details on page 10) Connect PIN harness. If connected in D2D Connect 4 PIN D2D harness. Once done, the bypass red LED will turn ON. 7 Ready to use LED will turn ON 3 seconds, and then turn OFF. L 2 D R N P INSTALLATION GUIDE Please Note: Rev.: 24 When a CANMAX400 is used in D2D with either Viper, Clifford or Python, the jumpers on the remote starter MUST be placed in the Horizontal position. Page 10 to Jumper position Module programing 1 2 3 4 5 When all connections are correctly done, the red LED will turn ON. Make sure the vehicle can t start: Automatic transmission: Put transmission in D position. Manual Transmission: Do not press the clutch pedal. Turn the key to Start and keep this position until the green LED start to flash. Turn the key back to the ignition position until the green LED stop flashing and comes ON for 3 seconds. You can remove the key, the module is now programmed and ready to operate. KEY KEY Position D OFF OFF IGN IGN START KEY START & & OFF Flash ON 3 secs IGN START No Clutch Feature Programming Integrated Programming To enter feature programming routine Button (IPB) - Turn the ignition ON, then OFF. - Within 5 sec, press and HOLD the integrated programming button (IPB). The orange LED turns ON after 3 seconds. Release the IPB. - The green LED starts flashing slowly one time to indicate the feature number is 1. After a short delay, the red LED flashes rapidly one time to indicate the current option of feature 1. It repeats until next action happens. Accessing another feature - Press and release the IPB a number of times to advance from the current feature to the next desired feature. - The green LED flashes slowly the number of times equal to the feature number. After a short delay, the red LED flashes rapidly one time to indicate the current option of the current feature. It repeats until next action happens. Changing feature options - Press the arm or disarm button on aftermarket transmitter to change the option of the selected feature. - The red LED flashes rapidly the number of times equal to the current option number. After a short delay, the green LED flashes slowly the number of times to indicate the current feature. It repeats until next action happens. When the maximum number of feature or option is reached, the will LED starts flashing again from the first feature or option. Once a feature is programmed - Another feature(s) can be programmed. - The feature programming can be exited. Exiting feature programming - No activity for 30 seconds; after 30 seconds, the orange LED will turn ON for 2 seconds to confirm exiting. OR - Press and HOLD the IPB for 3 seconds.
