Description Monitored Parameter Typical Enabling Conditions Monitor Sequence Execution Frequency Typical Duration Dash Lamps Engine Reaction Verification SPN 520371/FMI 16 The Fault Indicates High DEF Delivery NOx Conversion Efficiency Closed Loop DEF Dosing Always Enabled Two Seconds Parked SCR Efficiency Test Check as follows: 1. Connect DiagnosticLink. 2. Check the DEF quality by using the refractometer from the DEF Test Kit W060589001900 to measure the DEF percentage. Is DEF percentage between 31 and 34%? a. Yes; Go to step 3. b. No; clean/flush the DEF tank. Go to step 3. Refer to section "Flushing of the Diesel Exhaust Fluid System". 3. Unbolt the DEF dosing unit from the aftertreatment. Do not disconnect the DEF lines or electrical connector. Refer to section "Removal of the Diesel Exhaust Fluid Dosing Unit". 4. Perform a DEF Quantity Test service routine and record the amount of DEF dispensed. Is the dispensed DEF fluid level between 108 and 132 ml? a. Yes; Go to step 5. b. No; replace the DEF dosing unit. To verify repairs, Go to step 9. Refer to section "Removal of the Diesel Exhaust Fluid Dosing Unit". 5. Reinstall the DEF dosing unit to the aftertreatment, using a new gasket and bolts. 6. Disconnect the DEF dosing unit electrical connector. NOTE: SPN 3361/FMI 5 will set when the DEF dosing unit electrical connector is disconnected. The fault code can be cleared using DiagnosticLink after the DEF dosing unit electrical connector is reconnected. 4 All information subject to change without notice. 7. Start the engine. 8. Using Diagnosticslink, start a parked Regen. 9. Let the regen run for 40 to 45 minutes, then start monitoring the SCR inlet NOx sensor and SCR outlet NOx sensor ppm values. Are the NOx sensors reading within 50 ppm of each other? a. Yes; Go to step 10. b. No; replace the inlet NOx sensor. Refer to section "Removal of the Selective Catalytic Reduction Inlet NOx Sensor". 10. Reconnect the DEF dosing unit electrical connector. Go to step 11. 11. Start the engine and perform a Parked SCR Efficiency test to clear the fault. Refer to *section "Perform Parked SCR Efficiency Test". All information subject to change without notice. 5

7. Using Diagnosticslink, start a parked Regen. NOTICE: It may take 30 minutes or longer for the SCR Outlet NOx sensor to turn on. 8. Let the regen run for 40 to 45 minutes, then start monitoring the SCR inlet NOx sensor and SCR outlet NOx sensor ppm values. Are the sensors reading within 50 ppm of each other? a. Yes; Go to step 11. b. No; replace the inlet NOx sensor. For 1-Box, Refer to section "Removal of the Selective Catalytic Reduction Inlet NOx Sensor". Go to step 9. 9. Start another parked regen. 10. Let the regen run for 40-45 minutes, then start monitoring the SCR inlet NOx sensor and SCR outlet NOx sensor ppm values. Are the sensors reading within 50 ppm of each other? a. Yes; Go to step 11. b. No; replace the outlet NOx sensor. For 1-Box, Refer to section "Removal of the Selective Catalytic Reduction Outlet NOx Sensor". Verify repair. 11. Reconnect the DEF dosing unit electrical connector. 12. Start the engine and perform a Parked SCR Efficiency test to verify repair. All information subject to change without notice. 7
