Door Lock Alarm Interface Update Alert: Firmware updates are posted to the web on a regular basis. We recommend that you check for firmware and/or install guide updates prior to installing this product. Installation Guide PKFM is the new improved upgradeable Ford/Mazda data transponder override. PKFM is based on the best selling XK04 platform but improves on the coverage of 2006-10 vehicles with several hardware upgrades including an integrated relay. Like XK04, PKFM is preloaded with PKFORD firmware, and data interfaces directly with the PATS module to temporarily override the factory immobilizer when remote starting. (+) 12 V (-) Ground The wire colors of the D2D harness depend on the kit you have purchased. D2D connector is not required when installed in W2W mode. Door Lock Alarm Interface Page 6 Vehicle Programming The interface kit is designed to operate on PATS 1, PATS 2PATS3.Refer to the Vehicle Application Guide on page 2. PATS 1 1 (1 valid key required for programming) If connected in D2D: Connect the 4-pin D2D and the 10-pin harnesses. If connected in W2W: Connect the 10-pin harness. 10-pin 4-pin 2 Insert the valid key in into the ignition barrel and turn it to the ON position. The LED will turn ON*, and then it will turn. ON START KeyatON ON The module is now programmed. LED will turn ON with vehicle s theft security indicator. PATS23 2 3 (2 valid key required for programming) 1 If connected in D2D: Connect the 4-pin D2D and the 10-pin harnesses. If connected in W2W: Connect the 10-pin harness. Insert the 1st valid key in into the ignition barrel and turn it to the ON position until the security light turns. Remove 1st valid key. Within 5 seconds: Insert the 2nd valid key in into the ignition barrel and turn it to the ON position until the security light turns. Remove 2nd valid key. Within 5 seconds: ON START 1st valid key at ON ON 10-pin 4-pin START 2nd valid key at ON Security Light Security Light 4 Remote start the vehicle*. The LED on the module will flash once then turn ON again for (3) secs. Remote Start The module is now programmed. To test, wait (2) minutes after programming then start engine with a valid ignition key. Stop the engine remove the key, then remote start the vehicle. Flash once ON 3 secs FOR MANUAL TRANSMISSION VEHICLES: Instead of using remote starter to power up PATS system activate module during the last programming step, temporarily connect brown wire of bypass module to ground, then use a wire (jumper) to power up the vehicle ignition wire which will power up the PATS system. Once kit is programmed connect brown wire to remote starter GWR.

Door Lock Alarm Interface Page 7 LED Diagnostics and Troubleshooting LED Status Description Troubleshooting Programming the Module Solid red and wires are reversed. Flashes red (rapidly) and wires are reversed. Off Module has no power. Make sure the D2D harness is connected or that the 12 Volt is present between the red and black wires. If the 12 Volt is present, the module may be defective. If module fails to program, make sure the brown wire is not getting a trickle ground from remote starter prior to last programming step. If module fails to program or module was previously used on another vehicle, reset the module. Module Reset 1 2 Press hold the Programming button. Connect the 10-pin harness to the module. 10-pin 3 When the LED turns ON, release the Programming button. When the LED turns, the module reset is complete.

( DIRECTED ) promises to the original purchaser, to repair or replace with a comparable reconditioned piece, the security or remote start accessory piece (hereinafter the Part ), which proves to be defective in workmanship or material under normal use, provided the following conditions are met: the Part was purchased from an authorized DIRECTED dealer; and the Part is returned to DIRECTED, postage prepaid, along with a clear, legible copy of the receipt or bill of sale bearing the following information: consumer s name, address, telephone number, the authorized licensed dealer s name and complete product and Part description. This warranty is nontransferable and is automatically void if the Part has been modified or used in a manner contrary to its intended purpose or the Part has been damaged by accident, unreasonable use, neglect, improper service, installation or other causes not arising out of defect in materials or construction. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO EXPRESS WARRANTY, IMPLIED WARRANTY, WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND WARRANTY OF NON INFRINGEMENT OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY, ARE EXPRESSLY EXCLUDED; AND DIRECTED NEITHER ASSUMES NOR AUTHORIZES ANY PERSON OR ENTITY TO ASSUME FOR IT ANY DUTY, OBLIGATION OR LIABILITY IN CONNECTION WITH ITS PRODUCTS. DIRECTED HEREBY DISCLAIMS AND HAS ABSOLUTELY NO LIABILITY FOR ANY AND ALL ACTS OF THIRD PARTIES INCLUDING DEALERS OR INSTALLERS. IN THE EVENT OF A CLAIM OR A DISPUTE INVOLVING DIRECTED OR ITS SUBSIDIARY, THE PROPER VENUE SHALL BE SAN DIEGO COUNTY IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA. CALIFORNIA STATE LAWS AND APPLICABLE FEDERAL LAWS SHALLAPPLY AND GOVERN THE DISPUTE. THE MAXIMUM RECOVERY UNDER ANY CLAIM AGAINST DIRECTED SHALL BE STRICTLY LIMITED TO THE AUTHORIZED DIRECTED DEALER S PURCHASE PRICE OF THE PART. DIRECTED SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, DAMAGES FOR THE LOSS OF TIME, LOSS OF EARNINGS, COMMERCIAL LOSS, LOSS OF ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY AND THE LIKE. NOTWITHSTANDING THE ABOVE, THE MANUFACTURER DOES ER A LIMITED WARRANTY TO REPLACE OR REPAIR AT DIRECTED S OPTION THE PART AS DESCRIBED ABOVE.
