Hoow cone nozzes atomize disinfectants very finey and there by ensure wide surface coverage and high disinfectant efficiency. Work equipment disinfection Short throughput times are needed when ceaning and disinfecting troeys and containers for production. Fat fan nozzes with a high spray force are the first choice for that job. Soe and boot ceaning These systems are mosty inked in combination with hand disinfectant systems. For ceaning the brushes and spraying with new disinfectant, we recommend our series 632 and 686 fat fan or tonguetype nozzes. 5

This resuts in significant savings potentias. As a resut, the intensification of mechanica ceaning enabes the consumption of ceaning agents or the duration of ceaning to be reduced. Consequenty, the mechanica factor that takes up a greater part of the Sinner's circe, whie the other factors can end up being reduced. To achieve this, arge dropets must strike at high speed. This enabes thick soi to be removed that cannot dissove in the ceaning fuid. Important infuencing factors are the distance between the nozze and wa, and the operating pressure. If either are too great the fuid wi break down into smaer dropets (see Figs. 3 and 4) and the impact wi be reduced. esides the impact, the fuid running down the tank wa aso has a significant ceaning effect. If the formed fim is thick enough, the resuting shear stresses can remove ight to moderate soi. In that case, unsprayed patches are ess of an issue than is the case during impact ceaning (see Fig. 5). Whereas rotating ceaning nozzes spray the entire container wa in a fanike pattern, the jets from spray bas strike ony in concentrated spots. The remaining surface is simpy ceaned by the shear stresses of the fuid running off (see Fig. 6). The fuid consumption is therefore significanty greater in comparison with rotating ceaning nozzes. Higher temperatures can support the chemica ceaning effect. Foam ceaning with nozzes Foam ceaning is primariy based on the chemica ceaning effect. Since the foam sticks more firmy to the surface, it can be more effective than ceaning fuids that drip off quicky. The mechanica ceaning effect pays a correspondingy subordinate roe. Here, the task of the nozze is to distribute the foam eveny. Your end resut for this appication depends on the type of foam. d Impact The force of impact when using a iquid jet on a surface pays an important roe in ceaning technoogy. The ratio of the force (F) to the surface (A) is referred to as the Impact (I). Impact force F I = = Impact surface A It can be controed via the foowing parameters: Surface and spray ange The impact surface is the area where the dropet strikes. The smaer the surface area, the greater the impact vaues. Nozzes with high impact are, for exampe, soid stream nozzes and fat fan nozzes with a narrow spray ange. Pressure The impact increases inear with the connected pressure. If you doube the pressure whie maintaining the same fow rate, you aso doube the impact. e Spray ange, spraying distance, spraying behaviour Depending on the version and job, we suppy singefuid nozzes with differenty stepped spray anges from 0 (soid stream nozzes) to 360 (tankceaning nozzes). The quoted spray anges appy cose to the nozze and in a sti atmosphere. Gravity and air fows infuence the spray pattern. Depending on the version, singefuid nozzes can spray the fuid as a hoow cone, soid stream or fat fan. The soid stream nozze does not spray, but rather produces a cosed jet that hits at a concentrated point. The jet ony begins to break up after some distance. Twinfuid nozzes have a narrow spray ange of approximatey 20 due to the high speed at which the compressibe medium exits. However, as the distance from the nozze increases, the spray pattern becomes increasingy ess sharpy deimited. Twinfuid nozzes normay produce fu cone or fat fan spray patterns. f Viscosity Increasing viscosity of the fuid can reduce the fow rate, changes the spray pattern (narrower spraying ange) and aows the dropet spectrum to become coarser. Depending on the fuid properties, it is possibe to counteract this to a certain extent by means of higher pressure. For very viscous substances, it is recommended to use twinfuid nozzes in most cases. It can aso be hepfu to take account of the fuid's rheoogy. g Dropet sizes Twinfuid nozzes can produce very fine to extremey fine dropets. The size depends mainy on the fow rate ratio of the compressibe medium used (m 3 /h) to the atomized fuid (/min): The greater the ratio, the finer the atomization. In the case of singefuid nozzes however, the decisive factors are pressure, nozze type and fow rate across the dropet spectrum. Increasing pressure resuts in finer atomization, but mosty ony up to a certain eve. Fu cone nozzes produce sighty coarser dropet spectrums, and finay fat fan nozzes have the coarsest dropet spectrum. This requires severa nozzes to be arranged next to each other. This is because whereas a singe nozze woud produce a paraboic iquid distribution, severa nozzes arranged next to each other aows an amost even distribution via overapping. Figure 13: Liquid distribution measurement i Temperature behaviour of nozze materias Appications with temperatures up to 140 C are very common. These incude for exampe most ceaning appications and steriisation processes. Appications with higher temperatures are rare, and appications at very ow temperatures are even rarer. The genera temperature information from materia data sheets must aways be scrutinised for every singe case of nozze use. Pressure, mechanica stress type, chemistry and time are decisive factors for the suitabiity of a nozze materia at increased temperatures. Chemica processes can be more aggressive at high temperatures. A materia may be abe to withstand them if this temperature occurs for a very short period ony. In a materias, high temperatures resut in reduced strength vaues. The mechanica stress type must therefore aso be taken into account in highpressure appications in particuar. In addition, vibrations in the system can cause premature faiure. j Narrowest cross section The risk of a nozze bocking depends greaty on its narrowest cross section ( ). xperience has shown that for smooth operation, the maximum partice size in the fuid shoud not exceed one third of the narrowest cross section. Hoow cone and fu cone nozzes with infow at the side (tangentia or eccentric design) do not need a swir and are therefore much ess prone to bockages. In the fied of fat fan nozzes, our tonguetype nozzes represent a specia design that is ess susceptibe to bockages. k Connections Nozzes are mainy constructed with the thread standards ISO 228, DIN 2999 (N 102261) and NPT. A distinction is made here between seaing and nonseaing threads. In the case of nonseaing threads, Tefon strip or a thread paste is used to provide the sea. Not a nozzes can be connected with a thread. For these we suppy fange soutions conforming to the standards DIN 2527, N 10921 and ASM 16.5. Aseptic camp connections (TriCamp connections) conforming to the standard DIN 118643 are aso possibe. Whether a connection other than the standard connection is feasibe for a nozze must be decided on an individua case basis. Materias Lecher precision spray nozzes are made of extremey highgrade materias that are designed to meet high requirements such as resi stance to ceaning chemicas or temperature infuences. The arge choice of different materias e.g. stainess stee AISI 316L, PVDF, PK or PTF aows nozze seection customized to the individua appication and operating conditions. In addition, the materias used for the tank and equipment ceaning nozzes are perfecty matched to each other and are thus characterized by very ow wear.
