2 The Nooteboom Ballasttrailer is specially designed for the transport of crane ballast and other heavy loads. The chassis is reinforced, giving an extremely high technical load capacity. Because of the extra vertical travel c.q. axle compensation (300 mm) and lateral stability, the Ballasttrailer is equipped with hydraulic suspension as standard. This will enable you to follow the crane with your Ballasttrailer on the building site. If the extra vertical travel and stability are not particularly important to you, the Ballasttrailer can be equipped with air suspension. The Nooteboom Ballasttrailer programme consists of 4-, 5-, and 6-axle hydraulically steered semi-trailers and are available with extendible load floor. Nooteboom Considering the running costs, it can be concluded that the specifically designed Ballasttrailer offers superior transport efficiency compared with other alternatives. For example, the high degree of manoeuvrability provided by the hydraulic turntable steering is of vital importance. After all, the trailer must be unloaded as close to the crane as possible. The effective load floor length also compare favourably with alternative transport solutions. And of course the load capacity of the Ballasttrailer is extremely high. Larger tyres are fitted, which reduces tyre wear and brake wear too due to the larger braking surface.

7 Air suspension and hydro-pneumatic suspension DETAILS & OPTIONS HEAD BOARD Teletrailers can be equipped with air suspension or the unique Nooteboom hydraulic suspension system. Left: Hydraulic HR suspension with 300 mm height travel. Right: air suspension. There is a wide choice of head boards for the flatbed semi-trailer programme. These head boards, available in many different sizes and designs, are easily installed/ removed. WIDTH MARKING For the sake of safety it is essential to carry width marker plates if the load protrudes at the side of the vehicle. The telescopic marker plates are maintenancefree and fitted with a retro-reflective warning sign. A flashing beacon can simply be attached to the flashing beacon post.
