The LF 2016 Edition, the three-axle versions of the CF with PACCAR PX-7 engine and the CF and XF Low Deck with a fifth wheel height of only 91 centimetres are fine examples of this. They fit perfectly within the philosophy of DAF Transport Efficiency. DAF Transport Efficiency stands for a full range of products and services, with the goal of further increasing the yield per kilometre through lower costs and optimal vehicle availability. LF 2016 Edition: even more efficiency and flexibility As part of DAF Transport Efficiency, DAF is introducing a number of enhancements to the popular LF series for distribution transport. Innovations to the 4.5-litre PACCAR PX-5 engine provides 5% extra fuel efficiency, while the 6.7 litre PACCAR PX-7 engine is now also available with an automated 12 speed AS Tronic transmission. Innovations to the DAF LF also include new air deflectors and cab collars, for an improvement in fuel economy of up to 4%. Wheelbases are now up to 6.90 metres for loading lengths up to 9.00 metres, thus maximising load volumes. The new long wheelbases make it possible to order fuel tank volumes up to 1,240 litres, which is unique in this class. This gives the

2 vehicle a very large operating range and results in financial benefit by refuelling where diesel prices are at their lowest. Optional are the new LED rear lights with an extremely long service life and a compact Frigoblock generator preparation for the 4.5 litre PACCAR PX-5 engine. The central display on the dashboard not only coaches the driver to drive as efficiently as possible, but now also gives information about the tachograph, driving hours, planned service inspections as well as the superstructure. DAF Silent for increased vehicle availability Other fine examples of DAF Transport Efficiency are the Silent models, which have been specially developed for urban distribution during the evening and at night-time. The 'Silent' button allows the driver to activate the 'Silent mode', whereby the engine software switches to a program that limits the torque and speed and gears are changed at lower engine speeds then. The DAF Silent models will thus have a noise level of no more than 72 db(a), meeting conditions for certification as a Quiet Truck. The 7.5-tonne DAF LF Silent is equipped with a 4.5-litre PACCAR PX-5 engine, with a capacity of 112 kw/152 hp and 135 kw/184 hp. Operators who need even more payload or space can opt for the DAF CF Silent, with a 10.8-litre PACCAR MX-11 engine with outputs of 210 kw/286 hp up to 320 kw/435 hp. Finally, the XF Silent is only available with 320 kw/435 hp version of the efficient MX-11 engine. Three axle DAF CF available with PACCAR PX-7 engine DAF now also supplies the Euro 6 CF with the PACCAR PX-7 engine in a number of models with three axles. These combine a higher payload with the efficiency of the 6.7 litre six-cylinder engine with outputs of 208 kw/283 hp or 231 kw/314 hp. The CF range with the PACCAR PX-7 engine has been expanded to include a new model featuring a 7.5-tonne trailing axle with single assembly mounted behind the 13-tonne rear axle. This increases the net loading capacity to almost 19 tonnes, and allows combination weights of up to 32 tonnes. Several variants equipped with a dual mounted trailing axle are also available

3 for more heavy-duty use. The new versions with trailing rear axle are ideal for more demanding applications in urban and regional distribution, including the transportation of food products, building materials, chilled goods and livestock. Specially designed for applications requiring a higher payload coupled with maximum manoeuvrability, DAF also supplies the CF with PACCAR PX-7 engine with a steered trailing rear axle (7.5 tonnes). New Low Deck tractor unit: more than 100m3 loading space, new rear axle suspension As part of DAF Transport Efficiency, DAF has expanded its model programme with new Low Deck tractor units with a fifth wheel height of only 91 centimetres. This offers opportunities to further improve earnings per kilometre by enabling loading volumes of over 100 m3 within maximum authorised dimensions. DAF partly achieved the height of 91 cm by installing a 140 mm high fifth wheel: a reduction of 22 mm, compared to the 162 mm for the existing Low Deck versions. The height was also further reduced by fitment of low-profile tyres. For instance, size 315/45R22.5 tyres are used on the rear axles. The front features existing size 355/50R22.5 or the new 375/45R22.5. The latter has been jointly developed by DAF and Goodyear and will be exclusively available from DAF in the coming year. Naturally, the geometry of the rear axle also plays an important role in realising a lower fifth wheel height of only 91 centimetres, where the torque rods, brackets and yokes have been completely redesigned. Besides the even lower fifth wheel height, this has resulted in an optimal longitudinal trailing. That is why the steering and handling properties of DAF Low Deck tractor units are at an unprecedented high level. Optimised drive lines, a new aerodynamic package and an even greater choice of wheel bases and fuel tanks contribute to higher returns per kilometre. Most LF 2016 Edition models also have the latest comfort and safety technologies fitted as standard, including AEBS, FCW, ACC and LDWS. The numerous innovations DAF is introducing for the LF distribution truck fit seamlessly into the philosophy of DAF Transport Efficiency: lowering operational costs and further increasing profitability. This also applies to the new LED rear lights with their extremely long service life, the new Frigoblock generator preparation for the 4.5-litre PACCAR PX-5 engine and the central

6 display on the dashboard, which now also provides drivers with information about the tachograph, driving hours, the next service inspection and the superstructure. Optimised drivelines The new LF 2016 Edition features optimised drive lines. Enhanced software and even better heat and air management in the exhaust gas after treatment system, make the 4.5-litre PACCAR PX-5 engine (112 kw/152 hp 157 kw/213 hp) up to 5% more fuel efficient. The 6.7-litre PACCAR PX-7 engine (164 kw/223 hp 231 kw/314 hp) is now also available with an optional automated AS Tronic transmission with 12 gears. Compared to the existing automated 6-speed gearbox, this allows higher GCWs of up to 32 tonnes for extra productivity. Furthermore, lower engine speeds enable even lower fuel consumption and further reduce interior noise levels. Wheel bases up to 6.90 metres and fuel tank volumes up to 1,240 litres One of the major advantages of the new LF 2016 Edition is the expanded ability to tailor a vehicle to its specific use, thanks to the seven new wheelbases with lengths up to 6.90 metres. This allows load lengths of up to more than 9 metres for maximum load capacity. The longer wheelbase enables fuel tank volumes of up to 1,240 litres, which is unique in the distribution sector. This results in an even greater range, maximum vehicle availability and financial benefit by refuelling where fuel prices are at their lowest. Optimum aerodynamics: up to 4% in fuel savings To ensure optimum aerodynamics and provide the best possible fuel consumption, DAF has developed new cab collars and a completely new roof air deflector for LF models. The roof air deflector is available both for low and high bodies and, together with the new collars, perfectly suits bodies between 2.50 metres and 2.55 metres wide. The new aerodynamic package enables fuel savings of up to 4% compared to the previous package. More innovations focusing on efficiency In other areas as well DAF has introduced innovations which benefit efficiency. A new air intake directly behind the cab provides optimum air flow whilst allowing fitment of options such as

7 height-adjustable roof air deflectors, over-cab refrigerator units and top sleeper conversions. To suit refrigerated transport, the DAF LF 2016 Edition can be prepared for a Frigoblock generator (water cooled, 22.5 kw), in combination with the 4.5 litre PACCAR PX-5 engine. New LED rear lights, which are already offered on the CF and XF, are available as an option. As well as looking good with their unique ascending effect when turning left and right they will, in principle, last the whole service life of the truck and they are also energy efficient. Another example of DAF Transport Efficiency. More information for drivers DAF s Driver Performance Assistant on LF, CF and XF models provides the driver with detailed feedback on fuel economy, the braking behaviour and how well traffic is anticipated. As from the new LF 2016 Edition, tachograph information is now also shown on the central information display. This allow drivers to monitor vehicle speed as well as their driving hours more effectively to avoid infringements. The screen also displays when the truck's next service inspection is due, ensuring timely maintenance. Based on the driver card, the display switches automatically to the required language, which is useful for the driver. Improved integration with the superstructure Information about the superstructure can also be shown on the central display; for example, if the loading crane is not fully folded in or the stabiliser legs are not secured. This is possible thanks to the enhanced communication between the chassis and superstructure; this also ensures, for example, that the superstructure knows whether the transmission is in neutral. In addition, the PTO and engine speed, amongst other things, can now be controlled via the central vehicle CAN, both from the bodywork and from the cab, for maximum efficiency and convenience. Fitted as standard: AEBS, FCW, ACC and LDWS The DAF LF 2016 Edition (from 8 tonnes GVW and with air suspension on the rear axle) comes as standard with Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS), Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). The Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) is

8 also standard. AEBS and FCW aim to prevent collisions. In an emergency situation, AEBS can automatically apply the brakes to avoid a collision or to minimise any impact. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) automatically adjusts the speed of the truck to match the speed of the vehicle in front. As a result, a safe distance is maintained between the two vehicles. This enables cruise control to be used as much as possible, which benefits fuel economy. Lane Departure Warning (LDWS) works with a camera behind the windscreen. If the truck unintentionally leaves its lane, an acoustic signal warns the driver. LF Silent Following the successful launch of the CF and XF Silent models, DAF is now also offering an extra-quiet distribution truck based on the LF. The new version has been specially designed for urban and regional distribution in areas where noise restrictions apply during the evening and at night. In the special 'Silent Mode', which can be easily activated by pressing a button on the dashboard, the extra-quiet LF has a noise level of maximum 72 db(a), thus satisfying conditions for certification as a 'Quiet Truck'. This enables goods to be loaded and unloaded in areas where evening, night-time or early morning noise restrictions apply contributing to maximum vehicle availability and, in turn, to efficiency. The 7.5-tonne DAF LF Silent is equipped with the efficient 4.5-litre PACCAR PX-5 engine, with a capacity of 112 kw/152 hp and 135 kw/184 hp, and is connected to the automated AS Tronic six-speed gearbox. DAF Transport Efficiency The many innovations mean that the DAF LF 2016 Edition represents a major step in further enhancing truck efficiency, in line with the philosophy of DAF Transport Efficiency. Naturally the key features of DAF s distribution truck are still maintained, including the high load capacity thanks to the low kerb weight, easy manoeuvrability thanks to the smallest turning circle in its class and the high comfort and easy handling so valued by drivers.

All the new models with trailing rear axle are available with Day Cab, Sleeper Cab and Space Cab. 6.7-litre PACCAR PX-7 engine The common factor between the new variants is the 6.7-litre six-cylinder PACCAR PX-7 engine with outputs of 208 kw/283 hp or 231 kw/314 hp. A manual transmission with nine gears is available as standard and an AS Tronic automated 12-speed gearbox is available as an option.

Even when evening, night-time or early morning noise restrictions apply? The new LF Silent makes this possible, in the same way as the popular CF Silent and XF Silent. For urban distribution in the evening, night and early morning, DAF offers Silent versions of the CF, XF and - more recently - LF. When set to the special Silent mode, the noise level does not exceed 72 db(a), which means conditions for certification as a Quiet Truck are met, enabling goods to be loaded and unloaded in areas subject to evening, night-time or early morning noise restrictions. Shifting at lower speeds The dashboard of the Silent versions features a special Silent button. If it is pressed, the engine software switches to a programme that limits the torque and engine speed, gears are changed at lower engine speeds then. In the DAF CF and XF Silent, the encapsulation of the gearbox also contributes to the noise reduction. All Silent versions are available in various configurations. For instance, DAF supplies the new LF Silent as 4x2 rigid, with a choice of day, extended day and sleeper cab, and of course with a wide range of wheelbases. The DAF CF and XF Silent are available as a rigid or tractor unit, with a choice of various cabs, chassis lengths and axle configurations.

This offers opportunities to further improve earnings per kilometre by enabling loading volumes of over 100 m 3 within maximum authorised dimensions. Thanks to a height of only 91 cm, the maximum vehicle height of 4 metres allows application of trailers with an internal height of 3 metres. This creates maximum efficiency: trailers with loading volumes of over 100 m 3 are possible and it is also possible to stack three standardized Meterbuckets as used in the automotive sector. Unique tyre size DAF partly achieved the height of 91 cm by installing a 140 mm high fifth wheel: a reduction of 22 mm, compared to the 162 mm for the existing Low Deck versions. The height was also further reduced by fitment of low-profile tyres. For instance, size 315/45R22.5 tyres are used on the rear axles. That is why the steering and handling properties of DAF Low Deck tractor units are at an unprecedented high level. New roof air deflectors for XF At the same time as the new Low Deck versions, DAF also developed a new roof air deflector and new cab collars for the XF Space Cab and Super Space Cab. Due to perfect aerodynamic interaction with the trailer, this helps to reduce fuel consumption by 1.5% and thus realise a similar CO 2 emissions reduction. DAF offers the new CF and XF Low Deck tractor units with a wheel base of 3.80 meters and with either parabolic or air suspended 8 ton front axle. In terms of the powertrain, it is possible to specify either the 10.8 litre PACCAR MX-11 engine or the 12.9-litre PACCAR MX-13 engine.
