Extensive use of high-strength, lightweight materials in the Series-II ADTs gives these trucks the best payload-to-weight ratios and hauling efficiencies. They handle heaped payloads with fast cycle times and unsurpassed fuel efficiency so you'll move big loads at less cost with the lowest fuel consumption in all size classes. BRAKES AND SUSPENSION All D-Series Trucks use a semi-independent front-suspension with oil/nitrogen struts for spring and damping, and to minimize vibration. The center-mounted seat reduces the roll often experienced in off-road conditions. Rough terrain demands tough suspensions like the kind on Deere ADTs. Central oscillation joint, high-suspension travel on all axles, and balanced weight distribution provide the agility and ability to navigate hostile terrain. Heavy-duty components absorb shocks and come back for more. Hydraulically actuated dry-disc brakes deliver consistent "on-the-mark" braking, even in cold weather. Simplified design makes them easy to maintain. The 250D and 300D come standard with dry-disc brakes on each

4 axle. The front axle has two calipers per wheel, and the rear axles have one caliper per wheel. HYDRAULICS Electrohydraulic dump-body control includes several productivity-enhancing functions, set through the sealed-switch pad. Settings include dump body height limit, soft or hard stops at the end of body raise, and driveline assist. Pushing the raise button engages the park brake, shifts the transmission to neutral, and increases engine speed to maximum. Closed-center load-sensing hydraulic system provides flow only when required, saving fuel. Quick access to diagnostic ports helps keep maintenance quick and easy and costs down. The hydraulic oil reservoir has a sight glass that can be checked quickly and easily for routine maintenance. CHASSIS High-strength lightweight materials yield best-in-class payload-to-weight ratios. So more of your fuel dollars are spent moving material, not the machine. Delivers better floatation for soft terrain conditions, and requires less power and fuel when leaving the loading area, too.

5 The ribbed bed and high-strength chassis deliver strength and rigidity without excess weight. With industry-best approach angle and high ground clearance (where it counts), Deere trucks go where others can't. And you won't have A-frame rear-suspension members plowing through mud, either. Unlike other trucks that deliver too much torque to the front axle when loaded, John Deere trucks have nearly equal axle-weight distribution, which optimizes driveline torque among all three axles. Maximizes material-moving traction and power efficiency. EASE OF SERVICE AND DIAGNOSTICS Centralized lube banks place difficult-to-reach zerks within reach for simplified servicing. Convenient lube chart helps ensure that nothing gets overlooked. Cab can be tilted without special tools in minutes, for convenient service access to hydraulic pumps and the transmission.

Many components that require regular greasing on competitive machines are maintenance-free on Deere machines. When your ADT is equipped with the onboard weighing system, load tonnage is also accessible through JDLink. Best-In-Class The best-in-class monitor has multi-language capability, easy-to-read LCD screens with onboard diagnostics, analog/digital gauges, and vital system-status lights. Onboard weighing system displays the payload while loading and even illuminates mirror-mounted load lights to alert the operator and job superintendent when the ADT is nearing capacity. Load tonnage is also accessible through JDLink, so you can monitor productivity from virtually anywhere. The tire-pressure-monitoring system is now in base to maximize tire life and performance. Also access tire data through JDLink. When your ADT is equipped with the onboard weighing system, an added feature is dump-body rollover protection. A maximum rear-frame side-to-side off-level angle can be programmed at the request of the owner to prevent the dump body from being raised when the rear chassis side-to-side angle is greater than the programmed value. Minimizes the risk of rear chassis rollover while dumping.

8 Powertrain Fuel-efficient Tier 3-certified engines deliver clean power without compromise in all conditions. Leading-edge emissions technology ensures rapid engine response and dependable cold-start performance. You get full-time six-wheel drive not part-time like some trucks. Dividing driveline torque among all three axles maximizes axle life, traction, and tire wear. Transfer-case inter-axle differential splits torque to evenly transfer power to each axle in all conditions. Fully automatic six-speed planetary transmission with lockup torque converter maximizes fuel and operator efficiency. All shifting is done through the FNR buttons on the new sealed-switch module. Deere trucks offer impressive retarding capacity and best-in-class system refinement for smooth, controlled descents and less service-brake wear. The operator can choose retarder aggressiveness. Once set, operation is completely automatic. Sealed-Switch Module Designed to last the life of the machine, the water- and dust-proof sealed-switch module has backlit LED lights that will never burn out and are intuitively arranged for convenient fingertip operation.

9 Keyless start is in the base machine package on all D-Series-II models. Push-button start eliminates the need for an ignition key. When the stop button is pushed once, the turbo cool-down timer automatically calculates how long to idle the engine before shutting down. Dump-body and transmission controls have been integrated into the sealed-switch module to keep all of the operator controls in one convenient location and further reduce the number of wires, switches, and relays in the cab. Cab Comfort Premium heated, air-suspension seat is optimally positioned behind the front axle in the center-mount cab to help smooth out the ride. With cab sound levels that are three dba lower than their predecessors, these trucks are noticeably easier on the ears. Standard adjustable tilt and telescoping steering column and available electric adjustable and heated mirror option further enhance operator comfort and productivity. In-cab comfort and convenience features include a CD player with high-output speakers. Heavy-duty bi-level four-season climate-control system with automotive-style louvers keeps the glass clear and the cab comfortable. Standard sound suppression significantly reduces noise and operator fatigue.
