Armourtex protective sleeves are made out of Polyurethane, a material unique in its extreme resistance to abrasion and cutting, thus offering optimal protection of a sling can be ensured. High levels of grip to a flat surfaces will also prevent load slippage. Using an internal textile lining the inserted sling can glide easily through the sleeve, this especially useful when lifting a coli as you can turn the coil over 180º safely without any damage and without accident. These sleeves have proved themselves under the hardest conditions. They prolong lashing and lifting system life by a high factor. Armourtex Sleeves can be added to a webbing sling (normally a duplex type) or a roundsling where a safe lift procedure is required. We supply a lot of our Armourtex sleeves for lifting steel coils, steel beams, concrete pipes and generally where the product being lifted is susceptible to damaging the sling and ultimately injuring the person doing the lift. With safety in mind it is worth your peace of mind purchasing and using our Armourtex sleeves and definitely not an alternative method such as old pieces of carpet etc. Armourtex can be bonded onto webbing slings which will be used for its anti cutting properties or where abrasion damages a sling then a thin layer sprayed on is the answer. It is important when ordering that you specify which type of sleeve you require, as we offer a single sided sleeve which has a coating on one side only and a double sided sleeve which is fully covered - see pictures below

4 Armourtex - sharp edge protectors Armourtex - Lashing Protective Pads ("DF") can be used wherever there are sharp edges to be protected or where damage to materials needs to be prevented. The protective pads are applied during the load fastening / lashing operation. The lashing belt is threaded through the two openings, so that the plate can slide freely along the belt, avoiding damage as there is with no contact between the belt and sharp edges. Armourtex - Corner Protection ("KW") are used in the lifting of heavier sharp edged loads such as coils. Magnets (optional) make application simple. Edge protectors can be supplied for lifting slings between 65 and 100mm, or for ropes of up to 40mm diameter. The edge protectors can also (special order only) be supplied with a semi-circular opening for the load side of the belt corresponding to the diameter of the coils in coil loads. In this way an extremely even load weight spread can be achieved. A special version of the Armourtex - PU Edge Protector Corners ("KWS") offer protection from sharp edges for ropes and cables, and are available in two styles. They have round openings, through which the rope can be threaded. In this way the weight of pointed loads can be spread across an area, and both load and lashing material are protected.

5 Armourtex Chains & Wire Once positioned correctly it is just a matter of lifting in a steady and controlled motion Armourtex Chain Sleeves not only protect the load from chain damage but can also allow the item being moved to be lifted through 90 without any damage or fuss. As you can see from the picture (left )the wheel is nearly through its 90 turn over.

Whilst lifting any load sharp edges can often be a problem to Webbing, Chains and Ropes. ARMOURTEX protective sleeves are manufactured out of Polyurethane, a material which has a unique resistance to abrasion and cutting, it offers an optimal and a high level of grip to flat surfaces which also prevents load slippage. ARMOURTEX will prolong a slings life by a high factor and more importantly protect both the user and high value items from getting damaged compared to unprotected chains and wires. 10 Armourtex - Fork Shoe Protection PU Prong Protectors are designed to protect both the load and expensive fork prongs from damage. It is soft enough to muffle noise (transport of boxes etc.), yet rigid enough not to be crushed or cut by extreme loads. It also has strong anti slippage properties. This excellent protection is available either as a permanent coating or as an attachable sleeve. Fixing Bracket The fork shoe can be quickly and attached to the forks by a U shaped bracket bolted on to the back of the fork shoe / forks (see picture). which is Upright Protection for the rear side of the prong is easily arranged by the simple use of a magnetised polyurethane bracket cushioned with foam impact protector (measuring approx. 425x70x30mm). It is easily attached and removed at any time. When not in use it can simply be attached to any magnetised parts of the truck in order to be readily available. 12 Armourtex - Anti Slip Mats Increased stationary and glide resistance Reduction of required lashing tension Increased Lashing life expentancy Environmentally friendly recyclable material ARMOUTEX anti-slippage mats increase the resistance between loading surface and load. The mats are made out of a PU-bound rubber granulate (recycled material). Standard measurements are 5000x250x8mm. The ARMOUTEX anti slippage mats are laid down before a load is placed onto the often otherwise slippery loading surface. They can easily be cut to the required size with a sharp knife. Resistance is the friction created by the load against the loading surface. Here one differentiates between so-called stationary resistance and motion resistance. Stationary resistance is far more powerful than motion resistance. To illustrate this think of a heavy cardboard box, which you want to slide along the floor. The initial effort required to get it moving is large due to the stationary resistance. Once it is moving (motion resistance) the effort required in order to keep it moving is markedly less. Motion resistance is thus more relevant to load security. The friction factor µ is applied to quantify friction levels. Without the mats the factor observed during industry tests is 0.2. The friction force F is equal to the weight force G multiplied by the factor µ. Thus F = µ x G. This means that an object weighing 100kg can be pushed by a force equal to 200N or 20kg along a clean flat surface. The mat simply raises the level of the factor, meaning that a greater force is needed to push the object. In this way the lashing force required is reduced i.e. using the same lashing force, force F (the force which is required to slide the load) is higher with anti slippage mats than without. The load is therefore safer.
