Accountability Supervisors are to ensure employees have completed training and the assessment included in this SWP 6. Training Requirements Employees are to receive training in the correct procedure for 7. Document Storage The electronic master version of this document, together with the associated Forms and Templates, is stored on the Safety Managers computer. Purpose and Expected Outcomes and Flowchart To provide a standard process for the creation, review, authorisation and issue of documents which require control, specifically those operational documents shown in the document structure below. To ensure a common format of documentation is followed, to eliminate duplication and to ensure accurate and current information is readily available to all employees. PROCESS FLOWCHART. 4 10. Tasks Task Steps Hazards Additional Information and Controls Detail of each step in the task, presented in a logical sequence. Identification of any hazards involved with the task step. Any other relevant detail or information that will assist with the performing of the task and any requirements for risk mitigation. Inspect jumper leads for frayed Checking Equipment ends, exposed wires, cuts or punctures in the insulation and check the ends for loose or burned connections. Check Vehicles Ensure vehicle park brakes are on and park in neutral Task Steps Hazards Additional Information and Controls Detail of each step in the task, presented in a logical sequence. Identification of any hazards involved with the task step. Any other relevant detail or information that will assist with the performing of the task and any requirements for risk mitigation. Jump Start Using Jump Start Fittings/Lead Connect jumper lead to vehicle/equipment requiring jump start via special connection. Connect other end to vehicle/equipment to be used for boost. Start boost vehicle and leave running. Start vehicle being jump started. Disconnect leads in reverse order. Move boost vehicle to a safe distance before attempting to operate the vehicle/equipment. 5 Task Steps Hazards Additional Information and Controls Detail of each step in the task, presented in a logical sequence. Jump Starting Using Clamp Type Jumper Leads The following sequence must be followed to avoid sparks/arcing: Identification of any hazards involved with the task step. Any other relevant detail or information that will assist with the performing of the task and any requirements for risk mitigation. Always start by attaching the red positive lead to the battery pole of flat battery vehicle first (+ve Red) Then connect the other end of this red lead to the battery pole of boost battery (+ve Red) Connect the negative black lead to the chassis or engine, or negative pole of the battery on boost vehicle. Connect the other end of this black lead to the chassis or engine in an area away from the flat battery. Start the boost vehicle and leave running. Start the vehicle being jump started. Disconnect jumper leads in reverse order, black earth lead first, then red positive lead. Move boost vehicle to a safe distance before attempting to operate the vehicle/equipment.
