1 New Parliamentary Constituencies for England Parliamentary Information List Standard Note: SN/PC/04297 Last updated: 05 th November 2009 Author: Department of Information Services The Boundary Commission for England has completed its fifth periodical review of the Parliamentary constituencies in England. The Parliamentary Constituencies (England) Order 2007 came into force on 27 June 2007 and the new constituencies will come into being at the next general election; byelections held before then will continue to use the current boundaries. For further information about the fifth review, see Library Standard Note SN/PC/03222, Progress of the Fifth Periodical Review of Parliamentary Constituencies. The fifth review in Scotland was completed in 2004 and the new constituencies came into being at the general election of In Wales the new constituency boundaries were in place for the National Assembly of Wales elections in May The fifth review in Northern Ireland was completed in The Parliamentary Information List series covers various topics relating to Parliament; they include Bills, Committees, Constitution, Debates, Divisions, The House of Commons, Parliament and procedure. Also available: Research papers impartial briefings on major bills and other topics of public and parliamentary concern, available as printed documents and on the Intranet and Internet.
